It's rediculous how much I've learnt about the human organs from a 20 min video, while still being an absolute banger. This taught me more than a whole section about organs in school, and if I where to be a bio teacher this would be the first thing I'd show when starting a section on organs, it will entertain students and teach them something at the same time. But if course it's been universally agreed that students may not enjoy a moment of school.

@@NotSoNormal1987 this exactly. And even a perfectly healthy normal uterus can cause intense pain every few weeks because... Reasons? No. Uterus is absolutely not a high teir organ. If the devs nerfed the pain receptors and the blood loss (which is a huge debuff) then it might rank higher but as it stands it's a really poor design. There are good uterus builds out there but human is absolutely not one of them.

You DO realize that this channel is aimed almost exclusively toward smart people with a sense of humor, particularly nurses, nurse-practitioners, and those folks that call themselves "doctors of medicine". The rest of the world, us normal folk get only 1/3 the jokes here and think this guy speaks too fast and knows more than any god-like human should pretend to know. Thankfully, he admits it when he talks about the kidneys, lungs, heart, and brain and a few other organs no one has quite fully explored nor fully understood yet. I think he's got the basic fluid dynamics and electrical phenomena of the heart and lungs down okay by now, seeing that he thinks he's a real life cardiologist-surgeon; not just one who plays one on KZbin.

Man I gotta disagree with eyes and ears, they should be vice versa! The eye is full of design flaws, while the ear (the cochlea in particular) is an engineering masterpiece! Eye: backwards retina? Blind spot? Get a grip! Ear: performs Fourier analysis for sound signals. Integrates vestibular system to the same organ to save space. And don't get me started on sound localization! These bad boys can't orient like eyes and are basically 1-dimensional, but they team up and tell you where the sound is coming from based on microsecond-scale time difference! (I'm making my bachelor's thesis on auditory mechanotransduction. I learned ears are hardcore AF)

Dude, describing what ears do would sound damn-near magical if we didn't have them ourselves. I mean they allow you to remote-sense things you can't touch or even see based solely on changes in air pressure. You can detect a predator behind a bush because they stepped on a twig. You can hear your neighbor banging behind a solid wall. Ears are a literal wall-hack.

@rjfaber1991 Жыл бұрын
Not to mention that the inner ear also acts like a gyroscope and allows us to detect changes in motion. Admittedly that makes it responsible for sea sickness, car sickness and simulation sickness, but that's more the brain's fault for interpreting signals wrong than it is the inner ear's.

As someone with a uterus and ovaries, yes those fuckers are wonders of nature, but they also cause so much PAIN. Endometriosis is one of the most painful chronic afflictions people can have (and I stand by that assessment), and the fact that the ovaries don’t always make all the eggies go to the uterus but sometimes let them wander out into the abdominal cavity to cause ectopic pregnancies which KILL, make ovaries and the uterus bad design badboys. Plus, who invented periods?? Why not just reabsorb all that blood instead of becoming an open and bleeding internal wound each month? Ridiculous! Bad design. D tier.

I disagree with the liver's god ranking. While it does have more than 500 individual functions from detox to metabolism, it is also one of the most vulnerable organs in cancer mets. Due to the dual blood supply from the portal hepatic vein and portal artery. This exposes it to metastases of tumors from all over the body including bones, the gut, lungs, breast ca etc. The worst part is that with its lack of extensive innervation specifically pain receptors, these tumors are only picked up when they grow to the capsule or when the primary tumors in the original organs start to act up. I would therefore rank it as S tier at best.

As a woman I’m giving the uterus an F because it causes me pain every month I can’t rlly do anything about except attempt to ease it. Also for other people it causes endometriosis which I don’t even wanna imagine pain worse than the irritation that is menstrual cramps 🤬

Not just the gays - but society has created artificial taboos that drops this by two ranks - its still not Chuff rank due to being tied to junk and the big C risk but it certainly should sneak past the back door and be massaged back up to a stiffer rank.

From a Physio-perspective I'd say skeletal muscle deserves an A-spot, because we don't actually suffer much problems with them and when they do they heal well, blame that more on tendons and other structures. A truly undervalued benefit of skeletal muscle though is how adaptable it is, not only can they grow larger or smaller depending on what you demand out of them, but they can also adapt for your desire of strength vs endurance. If they get knots or what have you, just massage them and it feels amazing, really a very simply organ to work with DIY without the need of a specialist or fancy lab-equipment.

@@MrssS4Jumper It is not the same as sitting though. All the pressure when you're sitting down is directly forced onto the lower part of the body, but when laying down, this pressure is equally divided throughout the body. Of course it isn't good to lay down for a long time either, it's just way less vulnerable than sitting.
