I think this show will actually work a little better than Big Mouth just because it takes away the narrative that the main characters are middle school children and exploring other topics with adult characters as well as exploring all the monsters

I love how the show explores the relationships between the creatures and the different clients are a huge field for the authors to play with. Absolutely awesome. It's cool how they managed that even "bad" characters behind addiction, shame and depression can become likable and nice.

It seems like this is the next step in the franchise. I feel like it will take off. Seems like Big Mouth ended after this season. But they did get renewed for a Sixth Season. I'm hoping they introduce the self harm Walrus, only because Connie warned Jessi of him when the depression kitty showed up but they never went further with it. Also hope they expand on the Ponytail killer mystery they started a few seasons ago. Finally I hope this plays into season 6 of Big Mouth later this year. And finally for real this time, I hope they have a cross over with the kids or reference them in the background. So cant wait for this

I noticed something about both Big Mouth and Human Resources: the teams of monsters that each person has. In the beginning of Big Mouth, the kids only had hormone monsters because every decision they made was caused by their hormones. As the series progresses, and the kids get older and learn more about life, their teams start to expand. They now have anxiety mosquitos, shame wizards, love-bugs/hate-worms, and who knows what else will come along. The adults in Human Resources have all of the previously mentioned monsters, as well as ambition gremlins, logic rocks, and more because they are adults who have seen and know a lot more than the kids and don’t only make decisions based on a few aspects. There are several factors influencing their decisions.

So something I'm curious about, does this take place in the future after Big Mouth? The reason I ask is because a few of the human characters look like older versions of some of the kids (especially with the pregnant mother being a near dead wringer for Ali, the girl with the cap in the yellow shirt looking very close to an older Natalie (the transgender from summer camp), and the woman at 0:53 looking like an older Gina (even has the same nose).

I just watched it all the way through, and I’ll say this, I think this show will be more palatable/appeal to more people than Big Mouth. Don’t get me wrong, I like Big Mouth, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t understand where the critics against it are coming from. It can be pretty uncomfortable watching middle-school aged kids engage in sexual behaviors, even if that is what kids their age do. This series, on the other hand, focuses more on things that adults go through. Like being sucked in by addictive behaviors, taking care of a dying loved one, and trying to navigate your job. Hell, one of the main stories focuses on a new mother feeling guilty that she doesn’t instantly love her new baby, something that society constantly pressures new moms over, as well as the regrets she feels about having a baby at all and it changing her life.

Loving the show and currently on episode 5 which talks about postpartum depression and OMFG!!! Finally!! Someone has shown it for what it actually like! Well as close as I've ever seen anyways.... One of the first, and arguably the WORST things that happened to me when it hit was that I suddenly woke up convinced that I didn't love my husband anymore. It's fuking terrible to know you're supposed to feel something for someone and yet you still don't. You can't. It's all just numbness with massive waves of crippling sadness in between.

I just realized that Emmy is the same Love Bug that was talked to in that one episode when they asked if she was still seeing that monster from the bar :0

Hmm... I'm interested to see how this will be but what I liked most about Big Mouth is seeing how the human characters figure out life as they grow into adulthood. The monsters seemed more comic relief than anything else. I hope this doesn't make them neglect Big Mouth.

Netflix’s own synopsis says “Big Mouth meets The Office” and be assured that’s exactly how the show was pitched. This show is such derivative nonsense it makes “Flo” look like a work of genius. This can definitely kiss my grits.

I honestly think I love this show more than big mouth. It just hits you more on an emotional level while still being funny and raunchy.

If there's a depression kitty, anxiety mosquito, and self-harm walrus, will there be some suicide creature? I feel like that should be a thing. Like a suicide snake or suicide sheep or suicide spider? Someone tell me that's a good idea for a new villain!!! ✊
