Why can't they put "ugly" women in their games if they want to? They put "ugly" men in their games all the time and no one bats an eye. This is why they make women in games "ugly" because the expectation is that women always need to be a certain type of attractive. He literally demonstrates the problem while complaining about the solution. -- note when I say "ugly" I mean not conventionally attractive and/or not catering to the male gaze. Currently, most women in video games are actively catering to the male gaze, they're just _not_ doing that anymore and this neckbeard is butt hurt over it. Predictably. You know, as a woman, I for one welcome women in video games that aren't catering to the male gaze. Maybe in time men will get it through their heads that women don't exist for them. also, what is this: calling Hasan a "champagne socialist" because he "lives in a million dollar home" have they looked at home prices in LA? How about in California in general? A _half_ a million dollar home is considered a starter home or a "fixer-upper". So what, he bought a nice home in california, amazing. With that kind of money he could have moved to idaho and bought a mansion or something.

The ugly woman thing makes my soul hurt so much. It comes up a lot outside of games too. Literally just the other day I criticized several commenters on a post in a genealogy FB group. Another member posted a 100+ year old photo of her great great grandmother asking about her uniform and more people than not said something about her looking like a man. She was wearing a nursing outfit so she was certainly a she. It’s so fucking offensive. Some women just look like that-people need to get over it.

I never in my 40 year life ever heard anyone complain about a so called ugly woman in a video game. When it’s especially kids playing g games the past, wasn’t exactly the first thing we were looking out for either. Just the same way fiction has attractive/built characters in media , male and female get portrayed this way in my experience. People like to look at beautiful things. It’s amazing isn’t? Seeing woman with muscles, men with strong , emphatic personalities that are caring. Vice verse and everything else in between. Of course people have been used and exploited inthe past from all spectrums. But please don’t act like all guys are just listing over and hunger for some woman in media. 9/10 , if a game is shit it’s shit. Sexy people or not. And….. if you look at the trends in the last ten years anyways, all women for the most part are covered head to toe in comics and movies where the media is trying to make everyone look like a homeless people now. Ultima III: Exodus gave you the character creation options of male, female, or other, way back in 1983. I always picked other because I thought it sounded cool. You got to create and customize all four party members in that game. This was 40 years ago, older than most of the people whining about Starfield.

@@quietblake6997 I have the Ultima Collection, which recommends running them with the DOSBox emulator. Many titles have their own modern engine ports as well, like Exult for Ultima 7, which runs it much better than DOSBox. While I don't recommend playing the dumpster fire that was Ultima 9, there are mods for it that attempt to improve the dialogue, economy, combat, and just about everything else.

I am so pleased that I am of an age to call myself a "boomer" because when I was growing up with good parents, teachers and role models, what they are calling "woke" and "social justice" now, we called "tolerance" and "respect" on the basis that it takes all types of people to make a good society.
