You don't need 16 frames. Contact. Down. Pass. Up. Add extra pass frames if you want to.

Animation is something I’ve been interested in for a while and I finally want to actually take time to try. It seems like alot to learn but I’m excited and want to know a decent software for simple animations (walking,facial expressions,etc)

Hello James, I use TVPaint! If you are interested in frame to frame drawn animation and use a mobile phone you can try FlipaClip, for a PC the Animation section of Krita works nicely.
