The Notch Stealth Telescoping Polesaws are the culmination of three years of development to create the ultimate polesaws. Notch Stealth Poles combine carbon fiber with fiberglass to be 30% stiffer and 20% lighter than a Hayauchi polesaw of the same length, meaning you can cut more precisely and work for longer without getting tired. The no-slip locks secure the pole in place with a contoured compression lever and there are no preset spring stoppers, which means you have infinite height adjustability within the minimum to maximum range. Each Stealth Polesaw comes with a high quality Silky blade, providing fast, clean, efficient cuts.

The unboxing video was from a few months ago, and my ex was in the background, felt safer leaving that out. =/

Honestly you’re like my hero man your story and what you’ve been through you’re the only reason I love chainsaws and tree work I’ve started my own chainsaw collection since I started watching you last spring got a 441, 201T, 250, 170 and I want more and I want to learn to climb

My first long reach pole saw was the ARS which was the best pole and blade set up, then I purchased the Barnell which was ok to save the ARS from getting abused, then I purchased a STIHL and that was my new second choice and the smaller extension slightly bent, but still operable, then I purchased this Bad Boy NOTCH and was actually thrilled that you could cut with it without flexing like the three previous aluminum poles, and the blade was supreme as well. I tried to get another one 4 about years ago and low and behold they're obsolete, what a big surprise like anything that's worth a F... these days it becomes unavailable. I just purchased a Castellari 19.68' carbon pole saw today Made in Italy so I'll see how it compares to the NOTCH when it arrives.

I really like the carbon fiber shaft. I'm trimming citrus and stone fruit wood that's rock hard and tries to catch the saw blade on just about ever stroke. Thanks for the informative video.

I've used these several times and I really like them. The blade has a nice bite and cuts through wood really efficiently. A great addition to any tool collection.

i just bought one of them around november the same as the one as you have but when i got mine the cam locks were so tight that i thought they were going to break getting them undone. i almost stripped one of the screw heads out just loosening it. i let sherrilltree know about it though they said nothing. but i can say it is an awesome saw i couldn't see paying $100 bucks more for the 4 piece that gets you another foot but is a little shorter and more than likely not as stiff. the only thing i dont like about it is i think the fit of the scabbard is a little lacking. when i first put mine on it wouldn't quite snap over the bolt like its supposed to and i ended up having to enlarge the hole to allow it to go through but i now worry that if im climbing with it now that the little chincy tab lock is going to release and my $400 saw will hit the ground. all in all its an awesome saw.

Agree about the scabard, I ended up having to rotate the bolt that it sits over to get it to lock in, and it's still a bit tough, but not insanely so. Haven't tried climbing with it, not sure I'd trust it to hold if I was only attached to the scabard.

i took a lanyard and attached it to the scabbard and a prusik and looped it around the bolts in the top of the shaft below where the blade attaches its a little better than just relying on the scabbard to hold the saw but it kinda gets in the way. ill have to come up with some better attachment point at some point.

Love your video, could you tell me what you think , I read somewhere that the fred marvin pole saws are better quality than the notch pole saws, could you tell me what you think, Also , i don't know squat about pole saws but I need to cut some branches around my house, some of them around 20 feet high, could you reccomend which pole saw, poles, extensions, etc I could start cutting, also, should I get a pruning blade and and blade separate?

It's 2018 why are manufacturers still using single slit fasteners, especially when the friction locks are phillips? Anyways great upload as always and thanks for the review. Glad to see walking around and making it happen

Hello all, Got a Hayauchi on the way but have not used it yet, my understanding is that the dual position on the blade is to allow a better bite/cut when operating fully extended? Is this not really the case and its just easier to use it in one position unless its having trouble cutting due to age? Thanks guys
@Human1337
@Human1337 6 жыл бұрын
Makes sense, all the way extended you are cutting almost vertically, so having that increased angle will give more bite.

Thanks for the reply, finally got a long enough break in the rain to take down a few dead branches, works great!

Thank you, I've got some experience cutting trees down, but I'm thinking I should keep working at it, just in northern Minnesota it sucks with 2 feet of snow everywhere. Thank you again for your opinion.

Human Silky-Europe.com......under silky file is a basic picture and instructions but I would suggest a good gooseneck lamp and a felt pen to color the bevel you want to sharpen, you will see right away if your doing well. Silky Australia has a video of an ancient Japanese man teaching saw filing. I started this winter, I was afraid to begin but now I want to get them dull so I can make them right again, a sharp saw is so sweet.
