There's something therapeutic about cleaning and sharpening a chainsaw after a day of use. Tunes in the shop at night, a cold beer and a nice cigar. My favorite activity. And anyone who's never put a chain on ass backwards is just too perfect for my liking.

There are a few things the owners manual doesnt really go in depth about... The capacitor in the ignition module is a real thing. Most of the time it doesnt act up but it does hold charge for the brain to keep the initial settings for the carb solenoid. Another thing they dont really tell you about is the factory reset for the brain by leaving the saw running in the start position for over 90 seconds. Both of these things are hard to find in literature but Stihl did leave a breadcrumb with the "cool down" recommendation.

Was told more than once that I was obsessive about keeping my saws cleaned and serviced, and you might it do it a bit more than I did! But so many don't clean the tracks, and keep bars and such in good shape, and it just makes the work so much harder. One thing I've found, where you use the Lithium grease, I also caught that doing it, and used cheap grease w/lots of paraffin in it(read like wax) and it stopped it leaking dead, know the white lithium will work too, but usually much more expensive, unless you've found a source for it that I never did. Would put the brand in I used..but believe it's a regional one, and everywhere has the cheaper waxy grease..so just a heads up. btw, anyone who hasn't put a chain on backwards..either hasn't touched a saw..or is lying, lol, it's when you get to a jobsite and see someone getting ready to start a saw like that it gets to ya!

Ya, you don't have to comment if you don't have time. I really enjoy your videos. I'm glad you talk about your depression. I have this affliction too, most of my life. I've had it since I went through puberty. It's caused me to lose a LOT, I was kicked out of my job in the Air National Guard because of it. I drank when I would go home, I didn't pass my CDC's, I was in for 26 years so they couldn't retrain me. It was devastating. That's just one thing that my messed up brain helped me do. My doc keeps on top of my medicine. Well, finally, I'm not great, never will be, mostly, I try real hard NOT to let it define me!! It's my journey, no one else's. The brain is part of the body, it can get sick too. You have your journey as well, it's yours and no one else's! It sure looks like you are standing tall and you have excellent care!! Bravo!

I had a doctor /customer of mine look me right in the eye and say "you have the worst case of ADD ADHD I have ever seen.I really didnt notice until he said that.I look back in hindsight and remember aunts and relatives whispering to each other and now I know why.As a person who likes music I could get stuck on 1 album of my favorite bands for 10 years and it still seemed new to me.And with friends I sometimes/always change the subject mid sentence and immediatley after return to the original conversation where I left off. Im doomed.

Do pipefitters get to play with chainsaws? lol, I did a bit of it in the navy, not even close to good enough to be a pipefitter though.
@gmguy1567 жыл бұрын
Human, actually there is a piping product that is a rubber that "welds" together by heat fusion. You heat the edges up with a heated plate until the rubber rolls back, then push the two ends together and they come together to me a seal. The factory rep told me a chainsaw is actually best to cut it with lol.
