Advance the timing 5 degrees and slightly smooth and bevel the casting on the exhaust port for better flow. 14000 rpm a ok.

Opened the muffler baffle hole on my newer ms193. Runs a whole lot better now. Also removed the high speed limiter cap to obtain a richer mixture. More air flow requires more fuel. The saw you mod'd is a beast !! Just discovered your awesome channel.

I have an MS 361. I know that your not a big fan of 60 CC saw class. I must say that this is probably one of Stihl’s greatest saws. Light as a feather and a super fast cutter with 4.4 HP. I have had jobs where I’ve had to drop several dozen 80’ red oaks and the 361 handled it well. I’ve also done a lot of trimming and limbing with ease. A porting job will give up to 30% more power! For a couple hundred dollars you can be within a whisper of 462 power. That is 5.8 HP with ported 361 as opposed to 6.0 HP With 462. A 18-20” bar is letter perfect and a 24” bar will work in a pinch. Any way you slice it, this is a great little saw with an impressive power to weight ratio. In fact, before the 500i was around I believe this saw ranked 2nd in Best power to weight ratio behind the 660/661.

Human, just a heads up, I modded my MS362CM muffler just as you did. With the added port not having that deflector cover it much, the exhaust started to melt my chain brake handle... I bought a small piece of sheet metal and added on to the existing deflector using my harbor freight welder. Turned out slick and no more melted handle! Just food for thought. Love the vids!!!

Looked like you used red loctite? That's the high strength stuff that will require heat to get out from my experience. Is that standard procedure for guys doing this? I normally use the blue (medium strength) on most stuff but honestly have never used it on the ones I've done. Just wondering what others do.
@Human13376 жыл бұрын
I generally always use red, haven't really had any issues with getting them out later. Just use it mainly as it's what I like for the muffler bolts on my 200t and 201t.

I use the 250 as my climbing saw. It works great in the trees even though it’s not a pro saw like the 201t. Where the 251 has trouble is bar size. Most logs over 18” is just too much for the 251.
