I remember in Battlefield 1, there was a mission where we used a pigeon to deliver artillery coordinates to save our lives while we were in a tank stuck in mud. Its crazy to think that in a war that used chemical weapons, flamethrowers, tanks, artillery guns, and planes, one of the best and most efficient forms of communication was a pigeon strapped with a piece of paper.

Teaching pigeons to go to particular places is actually super easy, just have them live in a specific spot for a few days then once you let them fly off they’ll go back to that same spot. They know where to go because they have literally a GPS built into them, they remember landmarks and understand where is north, south, east, west are

If they know that house x and house y have food, they will quite comfortably fly between the two.

@@Latenivenatrix_Mcmasterae I raise rabbits, goats and chickens, but would seriously add pigeons if I had a market for them. Raising them simply to keep is not not very nice even if I did make a good sized enclosure, but my area would not welcome me allowing them to free range.

I’ve always had a soft spot for sharks too! They get negative credit just because they’re predators in the water that aren’t attracted to humans and cause less than 5 deaths a year.

They mostly get a bad rep because of Jaws (1975) movie. Steven Speilberg felt so bad about it because the decline of the shark population, especially the Great White Shark population, and said he felt responsible for it.

Funny how he didn't mention that Pigeons essentially have a Compass in their heads. Pigeons are believed to have the ability to sense the Earths Magnitudes so even if you took one across a continent without them having a view of the outside during the trip they can find their way back with no issue

18:15 fax It really made want a pet pigeon.😂 you should look up the Frillback Pigeon or the Jacobin Pigeon! They look hella dope, but I personally would get one because their flights a little hindered so they mostly walk.

We’ve known it was the fleas on the rats carrying plague and not the rats themselves for a long while bruh
@RnA. Жыл бұрын
Damn .. at this point we might as well go back to school 😂
@maozedong8370 Жыл бұрын
NO. It was HUMAN fleas that were responsible, NOT rat fleas. The plague affects rats the exact same way so their corpses would have littered the street, yet NO sources mention any excessive amounts of dead rats. Using computer simulations, the ONLY animal that could have spread the plague as fast as it spread were humans. Rats rarely ever venture out of a few kilometers from where they are born and didn't have the skills to transmit disease to that extent. Again, the ONLY animal all computer simulations support having been able to spread the virus are humans who were the ones pedaling the infected fleas.

Something to mention about how school isn't teaching the right history. I'm not sure that's true and the reasoning I have for this is that new developments are made all the time. Even about things that happened in the past. So new information would change how people are taught.
