You missed one source of influence - population. Every 1 pop adds 2 influ to main plaza. This is quite crucial early game

Thanks. I've been spending that part of my brain dedicated to Humankind on playing the game without doing a deep dive on each mechanic, or on min-maxing strategies or tactics. That will come later. Right now I'm playing and making a billion mistakes, having fun, and appreciating JumboPixel's overviews!

I think that’s a great way to play! I like to do the same when a game first releases. It’s a great time to get a feel for a game, and make new discoveries. Awesome 😎

Yeah same with me. I’m playing on a marathon game and I keep restarting learning more and more a reset and I don’t mind being in a 500 turn game then resetting

I played a wonder-spamming civ by picking only Aesthetes and Builder cultures. It turns out that if you play a "tall" style with small number of cities, lots of attachments and wonders, you're gonna need thousands of influence just to merge cities, especially for assimilated minor cities in the mid game. The upside is that I never had to worry about cultural osmosis messing up my build, but my neighbors got such a headache being forced to adopt my ideas that didn't suit their build or face approval debuffs. It was so funny seeing rebels spawning on their land constantly. And if you kill their rebels, you get the militarist stars anyway.

I’m absolutely loving this game I think it’s better than civ5. I love how your not just stuck with building 1 special building and a special unit per game. The only thing I don’t like really is right at the beginning it’s best to auto move

Had a major issue with influence and stability in a particular game. I understand this a bit better now. I do however feel that when your very down with stability and influence it is almost impossible to get back up. Had to quit because I had constant revolts and civic shifts from foreign countries.
@renaissancepress2473 жыл бұрын
Kudos. Influence does seem very important. Though I haven't been on the low side yet. Honestly time to jump the difficulty much higher for my next run. Winning at turn 216 in Metropolis 18k to 4k is just too much. It's interesting how the game pushes you forwards all the time. Science doesn't seem to be hard to get if you set it as a priority over food and money. Hoping to find a more worthy AI opponent the next game. They might do better on a one continent map. Final note - always key to build the emblematic quarters first and often and also to get the most of many of them you need large territories on cities as many scale off of population or number of districts in the city 😎

Try civilization
@imblackmagic12093 жыл бұрын
yeah, science is easy to come by building some research quarters almost no need to get the emblematics, although it does accelerate your science early on if you take the science affinities

There's interesting situations that I think many players do not ever see. Either they do not play on a hard enough difficulty, or they quit when starting to fall behind. In my current game my Empire is fully overrun by anothers culture. And I just became a vassel to a different ai. Now there's a challenging game to try to come back from and win.

I can not understand why, but I usually can not unlock any sivics. For example in contemporary era I only had like 7 ot 10

Barbarian is the right word, as for the Greeks (comes from "barbaros" which means "stranger in ancient Greek), it meant any people who did not belong to their own civilization ;) The Romans then used it too, to designate any people out of the Greco-Roman sphere of influence.
@brolylss912 жыл бұрын
This must be glitched or bugged because I had 100% control over my territory and 34% over enemies territory capital and 64% over his city. Yet my city gets the osmosis event and the -50 stability when I refused

Idk if anyone else has this problem, if you can call it that, but all of my continents no matter what are always giant triangles with small islands at the corners, I have tried other map generations, but it’s always a triangle

I use my absurd amounts of influence to plant trees in outposts. After the early game l always have too much influence ending the game around 90k and 60k in my last 2 games.

So I got a little 'assimilation' happy and now I am 3 cities over my cap and am getting -150 influence per turn. Is there anyway to save this? Or do I have to make them independent and get back to my city cap? I really wanna keep the cities.
@stebobibo2 жыл бұрын
There's a tech in the medieval era that lets u merge cities. Though, u still gotta pay influence for that, so if u are in deficit, it's not a solution.U can get techs that increase city cap. If the techs are too far away for u, might be best to let some cities go.

The date once you hit the later eras is completely borked right now. The year 41,100 and humankind develops nukes? One of the small things that bug me about an otherwise solid and enjoyable game.
@DeMasterz153 жыл бұрын
Theres a Civics mid game that you can unlock that makes it so that you no longer need influence to upgrade Outpost / get territories. You instead need gold to do so. DONT take it unless you got a massive gold income per turn.
@imblackmagic12093 жыл бұрын
you still need influence to construct harbors and harvesters on outposts, i find that money is easier to get than influence (+110k at the end of a game where i focused on money generation)
@alexanderdeppa80443 жыл бұрын
I took that one and found it really helpful. I just started pumping my gold income up, and using my influence for civics. I didn't read it closely enough, and was thinking I'd have the option to use gold or influence, but still feels easier to make gold.

First game of humankind i was right one scientific and cultural scale and I had a left policy in turn drop stability so most of late game was me trying to hunt down rebels from my empire or my neighbors rebels who entered into my land after i won a few wars against them if your not paying attention you might lose a few city's and these rebels have basically the same troops so if you are the British and you have redcoats most likely they will also have red coats so be warned i geuss make sure your city's are stable.

Sorry, I am going back to Civ VI. There is so much wrong with this game it's not even funny. The last straw for me was no oil. zero, none, nada. And being told that another civ had forced me to surrender when there had been no combat.
