Ignoring the technical mistakes, this story made me giggle a lot. I could totally see the alien invaders getting wiped out because some of our lesser creatures got on board (Rats, mainly) and chewed their wires. Starbucks, CocaCola and Hersheys become bio warfare arms dealers.

I hate ripping on people who share their work, but scientifically speaking, I'd expect more from an 6th-8th grade student. There's also significant problems with the language used, for instance calling earth dirt. Earth isn't dirt like a bag of soil. The same way that a bag of soil will never be a mountain, earth will never be dirt. Another is a bi-pedal insectoid which isn't an insectoid. By definition an insectoid is not bi-pedal. An insectoid is an alien which is insect-like, and an insect is any of a class (Insecta) of arthropods (such as bugs or bees) with well-defined head, thorax, and abdomen, only three pairs of legs, and typically one or two pairs of wings. Inherently, that means they have 6 legs to be an insectoid. If we're throwing language and science out the window when we're looking at the story... Might as well just say 'Murica! end of story.

I mean if we as a species are described like that, we are scary motherfuckers. Never mind that the concept of pursuit predation is terrifying on its own - by the standards of other beings, we never get tired. Or old. Wolves are the only ones who can kinda keep up with our stamina - only kind of but so we tamed them. We put stuff that kills other beings into our food so it doesnt taste bland, defy any sort of common sense on a grand scale and what would be a life-threatening injury to most other beings, like a broken leg, is something we can recover from in months or even weeks. Doesnt look very pretty because we have hyperactive scar tissue but its functional. Since we are technically socially wired weird monkeys, we will rain hell on anything that hurts our loved ones, and we have both the abilities and the lack of self-preservation when enraged to do it. Even so, these stories tend to portray us as jovial, sometimes boisterous jokesters that turn out to be a lot more dangerous at a second glance due to casual insaity. We'd be Warhammer40k Orks.

Also, a ten light year deep dead zone around Sol system? What happened to the Alpha Centauri system which is four and a half light years away? I’m almost willing to give a soft pass on that one on the grounds the alien rounded up but nine is not ten. Enjoying science fiction requires the reader to engage something called Suspension of Disbelief. For that to happen there must not be anything in the story that directly contradicts what we know of the world. Even such contradictions can sometimes be allowed if the explanation for why something looks one way to us but is radically different is unprovably wrong, like postulating artificial gravity to explain spacecraft that travel without rocket exhaust. Your story has a good premise but the two points I mentioned shook my Disbelief off the metaphorical hook it was suspended from. You got to get the known details right, okay?
