I really do agree that cats are closely linked to chaos, perfect or imperfect; probability of any kind and quantum flux. Gravity, to them, is a really bad idea that they constantly try to avoid. They have totally mastered the ability to be in two places at once. In short, they definitely did not originate on earth.

They're not very popular, EXCEPT as Visual Novel Games. Mostly revolving around Dating. There's probably still some and once in a blue moon you can find fanfic for it...but the books are rarely even close to being as good as a Linear Book.

Polar bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves, Orcas, crocodiles and humans. Depending on the ecosystem of course. Humans are not an apex predator of the ocean. Sure we fish the crap out of things but all in all we are not the top apex predators of that realm that belongs to Orcas. Orcas very rarely take on humans for some unknown reason. Maybe they paid attention when we were decimating the bigger whales and passed that knowledge down. Very cold climates where ice and snow are the norm are the province of the polar bear that can kill humans. Wolves are forest and tundra masters capable of running prey down or ambushing them just as humans can they have even been known to take on humans when forced to by hunger. Wolves are very good at analyzing a win loss scenario and cutting and running when necessary. Crocodiles are the masters of inland water systems and have also been known to kill and eat humans. The ability of humans to be an apex predator is 100 percent reliant on their weapon creation and use. If not for that humans would still be living in forests and running up into trees to escape the other apex predators.
