Dogs have been outside for 100’s of year. Give them shade and water, and they’ll be fine. Go get a generator, solar, this isn’t centerpoijts fault. Sorry for all those suffering in the heat without power. You are blessed that you have a car, that you can put gas in and have the air conditioner run. Many elderly don't even have that. Hopefully , this power is restored. Maybe save and invest in a solar generator, if this area is frequently prone to such outages.

Everyone in Tx and other areas prone to outages needs to get a good generator for power outages. Centerpoint should provide their customers with generators until they get their act together. I live in a rural area and seldom have outages, certainly in part because they are constantly trimming back trees from power lines. I went 2 weeks without power after a Cat 3 hurricane and the neighborhood pulled out grills and cooked everything in their freezers and fed the entire neighborhood for days.

These local "news" stations need to stay on top of this issue regularly from now on. Especially AFTER everyone's power has been restored. Accidents and storms happen yes. But the aging grid issues, lack of foresight PRIOR to storms and response times need to be addressed. Just covering it after failures isn't enough. Instead of covering the weather FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES during a 30 min news segment, cover and expose these problems regularly to help us with future outage issues.
