I had to stack some washers and use a longer bolt where the downpipe bracket bolts to that bracket/red rubber hanger. Mine was so far off. I removed and adjusted just to check but with the pipe on the turbo and bolted to the block it was still way off. It was really the only part of the install that I struggled with. Seemed like the two pins that go into the rubber hanger boots wanted to pop out otherwise.

Don't need to remove the post cat lambda. Still a tight squeeze and I had a 2 post ramp but should be doable on axle stands. Mark up subframe before removal, no tracking needed. I’ve done this on my mk6 GTD and I had to remove the rocker cover, dog bone mount and fully force the entire engine forward to get enough room to remove the stock down pipe… the tdi cat is so big it’s not possible to remove it from underneath without dropping the entire sub frame which is rather difficult without a proper ramp, also removing the sub frame on my older mk6 left me with squeaky anti roll bar bushes after seeing they were split and replaced them, it was like driving around on a balloon so didn’t want to drop the subframe from fear of causing the same problem again, I’ve since learned from watching your channel I could drop the subframe by undoing the drop links and leaving the anti roll bar attached to the subframe.

I have the exact same car in blue, soundaktor off, same IE stage 1 ECU/TCU tunes, but I deleted the center resonator. It's makes the equivalent difference as turning the soundaktor back on, but it's "real". It's still very quiet in all modes, not to loud but just enough. My mk1 Golf with dual 45 Webers on an AFH 16V Polo motor makes plenty of noise.

It will give you a real kick in the butt with the software, warning though. It's never enough, the guy that services my older ST225 modded his R to about 480hp and he's already talking about doing more. My ST225 has about 330hp but 510nm due to the 5pot and I'm looking at more work myself, I'll keep the S3 how it is.
