I also ran into standing water inside my passenger floorboard this past week. Looked under the rain tray to see a slow drip about every 3 seconds initially. Ran some left over rubber hose from a boost gauge install down the front drains followed by some weed eater line, and a squeeze bottle full of warm water. Was able to clear the obstruction and had a fast drain under the rain tray Hopefully that fixes it. Keep up the great content Charles!

Those sunroof drains.......ive done multiple drain replacements especially on tiguan, it was so bad that vw told us to just toss the old carpet away instead of returing it because they were getting SOOO MANY.

I had a similar issue with my MKIV GTI 1.8t. I replaced the throttle body and the pedal module. The problem went away EXCEPT when the engine bogs. When I am doing slow maneuvers like parking and I slip the clutch a little too much and the engine revs down below idle, 90% of the time the EPC light comes on. Restarting it clears it(and limp mode) but that is the only time it occurs. I still haven't been able to pin down why, but I will check out the connectors to see if the pins are damaged in some way and check their voltage readings.

The first thing this fellow did wrong was, after reading the code, firing the parts cannon rather than looking up the diag procedure for the code. (One might argue the actual first fault is the blue oval but let's not go there.) Any code, especially these days, is a 'follow this procedure first' code. Looking up the code may hint at a TSB, but Id focus on the code more than TSBs as Ive been burnt by 'chasing TSBs' far more often than ive been burnt 'chasing code procedures'. But then Mopar loves to throw the weirdest of crap at both owners and wrench yankers.

Is the harness fairly easy to replace on a ccta? Repinned the tb harness twice and now am thinking those thin wires are brittle and shorted or corroded somewhere behind where the splice points are. Any special procedures or tools to take the entire harness out? Or rather- can it be done without removing manifold ?

p0221 code checked the harness , throttle body to ecu to pedal . rewired it . ok swap tested with spare pedal and throttle body . checked ECU. ok removed intake , cleaned /checked variable flaps . actuator ok 👌 👌. cleaned injectors . car wont rev past 4000rpm boosts fine at any gear as long as its under 4000rpm . after p0221 erased and did all these things , check engine light never came up again . any chance it could be the high pressure pump ????? Hi, sorry this is Chinese to me. Girl here, trying to figure it out. VW 2013 CC that’s been sputtering since a oil change. Now PCE light came on and check engine blinked but acceleration was bad actually RPM’s went up to 4 and dropped drastically going 20mph. Heard the engine rev. Great video information and road trip and awesome channel. Quick question if I may Charles, I don't have a VCDS but just a regular OBD2 scanner with live data, so I have an Audi A3 2015 Quattro with intermittent codes: P0221 and P0121, no throttle, EPC, ESC, CEL, shutting off and restarting the engine fixes the issue temporarily, so when the problem occurs I shut it down, with ignition on, I scan with live data to look at my TP option and when pressing on the gas pedal slowly to the floor, it climbs up to about 88%, so do you think that is an accurate test to dismiss the throttle body issue and wiring? I will re-pin like you explain in your video but just wanted your opinion on that. Thanks a lot, John

Hey Charles, I have a 2014 Jetta TDI, I noticed the steering wheel is on and angled plane to the seat/dash. You can put a whole finger in the space between the dash and column on the left side and not even a finger tip on the other side. What's with that? Have you ever seen this. Hi good afternoon. I have a 2009 Tiguan. The check engine light came on and on the display the message 'engine fault workshop ' came up and an illuminated EPC light. This happened for two/three days and now it won't accelerate above 30, idle really hard and it even cuts off now. Carried it to be scanned, they made me change the fuel pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, coil pack, plugs all sorts of things and guess what, it's still giving the same problem. I'm feeling hopeless, any assistant you may be able to render, or advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you quickly upshift to 4th you can cruise at 65. Not the safest thing as you don’t get that acceleration if you need it but it will get you home fast. By the way, I have the same issue and will be repinning TB as prescribed.

Hey i have a 2003 vw jetta and ive been overboosting. I replqced the maf, all vacume lines, boost controll valve, and turbo actuator. I cleaned the turbo vanes using the oven cleaner method and im still getting the overboost. My tune is for 18 lbs of boost and it skyrockets and pegs my boost guage at 35 lbs. Any auggestions ? Manual transmition with alh engine.

i’m having p0089 code. I have replaced both fuel pumps, follower, and the fuel filter. Having a problem starting when cold, franks about 3-4 times then fires up. when it’s warm it starts immediately. any feedback would help :)

I brought a 2005 VW Passat. The guy I got the car from said it had B5.5 motor and it has been deleted. Well about a week after I had the car, I was on my way home and driving up interstate my car when into limp mode! I changed out the fuel filter, air filter and the mass up sensor also! On very cold morning's, it runs great for about 7-10 miles and than it goes into limp mode! I love the car but it's driving me crazy because every little hill I come to, I have to get in the right lane because I have NO POWER. Please help! Thanks....

Yes Sir but it didn't help. But when I check the codes, it showed P0101, P0299, P0401 and also when it goes into limp mode and I can drive it and than park it and 5-10 mins later it runs good for a mile or so and BAM LIMP MODE AGAIN!

I’m getting a p0016. Recently had the timing chain and tensioner replaced ~50 miles ago along with the guided. With the vcds I read cam sensor and jumps up and down and I get a diesel sound from 800-1600rpm from the engine and it hesitates. Normal acceleration. After that it runs smooth. And strong. I’m thinking something related to oil pressure or vvt solenoid or even a intake camshaft actuator. It’s a 2014 GLI. Any input would be very appreciated

It turns out it was as the n205 valve. VW list the wrong one by VIN. The one from the golf work fine. It ends with an F not a B. The B had smaller treads. Dealer ship was not helpful at all even after brought the old part with me. My guess is that after the engine got up to temp. The spring inside the valve did not have enough pressure to stay closed. In the vag com I could see the requested vs actual cam adjustments. While the ecru was requesting 0 it would jump quite high just by a small press in the gas.

Speaking of strange issues, I have a 2003 Jetta TDI wagon that was 5-speed swapped (01M --> 02J). The reverse lights used to work but don't any more. The reverse switch itself is good and S7 fuse is good. The connector doesn't seem have a good seal around the switch. When I put it in reverse with KOEO, the voltage in pin 1 is like .9 volts. It's so low I don't know if I'm testing it correctly. Any help, my fellow Humblies? :) Thanks!

You can try and run a dirty overlay just to confirm it’s a wiring issue. Things like this can be traced and repaired or simply over lay the wiring. .

Everyone Is Equal Po420 is for catalytic converters. If previous owner removed the cat and installed a test pipe (cat delete) you would have that code. How ever if you have a o2 spacer for second o2 you won’t get CEL. But you are gonna fail emissions. Look if you have cat. Cause if you not you need one to pass. I think High flow cat should work too!!
