As a sun Sag ... I think the description of us being party animals totally misses what it feels like to be a Sag, what drives us. It's about life-force, unudulturated life-force energy soaring, freed from the shackles of the Scorpio descent. We shake off trivia and untruths, laugh at the ludicrousness of the small things people cling to, and are drawn to live life at a joyful octave. Life-force has many expressions - joy being one. We are creatures driven by an inner energy that has one trajectory. The archers drawn bow describes our aim intention, focus - how we use that energy. Not dissipated party animals at all, when we need to we use our insight, life-force, discernment and understanding of essential truths with laser focus. I love being a Sun Sag!!

Met many in my life, and I have still to find a single one who was a party animal. Sag have deep sense of humor because of its philosophical and wider perception and do not get trapped like Scorpio in negativity and what is past, we like to move on and forward.

As a Sun Sag too... I agree with you! For so long I always loved my sun sign, but felt like others just saw it as a eh sign. I never felt like a party animal, more the opposite. In Vedic Astrology,our signs are divided into padas.I think that’s called decan in western. A nakshatra is assigned to a sign as well. It’s very interesting how each decan/pada describes us to a tee

My daughter loves to travel, my son not so much, both like to party, both are extremely hard workers often in leadership type roles but they do have a stellium in Capricorn. It's crazy that you use that analogy of Maverick. I'm a double sag and aquarius rising. I'm in recovery for almost 60 days now. On Thanksgiving night my dad (who is positive for COVID) had a mini stroke. I believe from the fever. But this experience shook me to my very core like you wouldn't have thought I was capable of if you knew me. My Dad's fine now but I think about what he told me during my active using, that he just wants to see me sober and with my kids living back with me. Well, I have my daughter living with me and soon my boys. I'm going to use that experience to stay clean and make my dad proud. Just wanted to share. I love your channel 💕♐♒

I wanted to revisit this video because I was thinking about Sagittarius today. I was just thinking about how a lot of people probably associate this season with the holiday and Christmas season, and think of it as an overall joyful time. And a lot of people probably think of Sagittarius similarly. However historically and liturgically it’s really not the Christmas season, it’s the Advent season. It’s a time of penance, meditation, preparation, and anticipation. The light hasn’t come yet. And similarly Sagittarius being a Jupiter ruled sign, is a lot more spiritual and penitential than people may typically think. People associate Scorpio with darkness, yet Sagittarius is even darker, however it awaits a turning point towards the light. It’s interesting how similar it is to Pisces, it’s fellow Jupiter ruled sign. Pisces also falls under a penitential season of Lent.

So true.. I'm a Sag Sun and Pisces Asc. Since my early years I was quiet, calm, meditative, observer. Hate parties, superficiality, love nature, books, art, philosophy , psychology and astrology. Sagittarius is the darkest period of the year and comes after the Darkness of Scorpio, so Sag has the important task to carry the light while the darkness is growing to the maximum point. We need to know the darkness but we also need to carry the Hope at the same time.

I have A LOT of Sag in my chart (Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune), with my Sag Sun (conjunct Uranus) in the 12th house and a Sag Rising, and the best way that I can explain my inner most being and essence is that there is constantly this energy swirling in the pit of my stomach, piercing my heart and chest and crystallizing my thoughts in this “time is of the essence” kind of way. It’s like I can just harvest energy and ideas from within me and speak my heart in such a way that I feel like I am being released from the shackles of my own energetic whirl pool, even if those meanings and ideas are not able to find any ground or footing. When I feel like I cannot express myself or perhaps SHOULD not in consideration to my surroundings I feel trapped and confined to this inner dimension which forces me ultimately to find inner dimensions and stories and fables and fairytales that I can immerse myself in and feel free in, because the structures of our world simply doesn’t cut all the different layers to my inner sense of freedom. This is why I am a writer, because I find freedom in it in ways the “material” or physical realm simply cannot provide me with.

Thankyou so much for this - just the best talk on Sag I've heard! I find it moving because it feels so truthful. As a Sag rising with Jupiter, Neptune (yikes!), and PoF in Sag (and in the bounds of Jupiter), I do feel it's a big part of my character, and a driving force in my life. I was always a very wild, reckless child - but in the sense of being out in nature taking risks, (scrambling up tall cliffs and trees and diving into the sea, riding horses bareback, and I was even into archery...heheh - I was such a Sag cliche!). I've always been wary of rules if they're about empty power trips, or don't add up to being consistent and reasonable. Natural Law, ethics, and the spirit of the Law I have a great respect for. So much of what you say resonates deeply. Also, ever since I was a child I was fascinated by the stories of the centaurs in mythology. A couple of years ago I read *The Song of Achilles* by Madelyn Miller, which contains a wonderful characterisation of Chiron. I'm going to return to this and rewatch. Thankyou again!

I'm a Sag rising with my sun, mercury, venus, mars, uranus, and neptune in Capricorn and I can relate to the Capricorn / Sagittarius dynamic you talked about. I partied alot when I was younger then went through a pressure cooker of a nihilism phase. Then vedic literature, philosophy and singing reopened my heart. I got a fine arts degree when I first went to college but now I'm studying political science, ecology and world religion. Sag sun in 6th house conjunct north node here. I think this is spot on re: our narrative arc having to do with the tension between responsibility, weight, earthly matters and a lost sense of “freedom” - reminds me of the unbearable lightness - or heaviness! - of being. It’s like every time I “level up” it has to do with assuming responsibility (rather than, say, letting go which comes easy). Thank you as always!

Saggy raising. Love Top Gun. I'm very independent. I don't need someone to tag along to go places. Never party. Home body. I volunteer every weekend to feed hungry at my church we feed 700 people with gifts of food on Thanksgiving. I love God and learning all things teaching justice , love to be outside in sun 🌻😎 laughter, comedies, healthy food to workout, Feng shui, I love the thought of being on horse or motorcycle the breeze of going movement . I'm a Sagittarius rising with Neptune on my ascendant which gives me this sometimes naive childish enthusiasm and optimism. I definitely love freedom and find it difficult to accept authority if it doesn't have moral and doesn't represent the higher good. I love dancing and I can be a party starter but totally can do it without alcohol or drugs and I love travelling but I'm not a real adventure seeker. I’m a 29 degrees sag ascendant conjunct my north node. One of the biggest misconception for me is the ‘love of travel” I’ve never left the country I was born in. I prefer “travelling” in my mind. I love books and magazines that show me different cultures etc. I very much value Freedom, but other things in my chart probably contribute to this- an aqua sun conjunct Jupiter and being in the 3rd house could explain why I like short trips, not travelling too far from home 🙂 I also agree with the hedonism and never feeling happy...

Sag rising with Saturn conjunct my ascendant. In many ways, I’m somewhat grateful for having Saturn there because responsibilities have always been accepted and expected. I feel like having my responsibilities handled, gives me the green light to have fun. And, with less guilt or shame. I’ve definitely embodied the balance of work and play throughout life. I have a Sag stellium in the third house, where the Sun conjuncts uranus and saturn conjuncts Venus, disposed by Jupiter in Aquarius. The tension you speak of is life. Almost 20 years ago, my first tattoo, right when I turned 18, was “hope” … Someone once commented, after learning it is the only tattoo I still have, that “hope” is the bottom rung on the later out of the pit of despair, and it struck the deepest chord in me, and gave me the most incredible feeling that I somehow innately knew this. It now seems so divinely led. The metaphor here about clinging to the bottom rung in the depths of darkness is ..:.. I can’t find the word. If beautiful, melancholic, poignant, sublime could all be wrapped up in one word, that’s what this feels like. I spent most of my 20’s as drunk as the people I served, dealing with the tragic nature of earthly and societal existence, and in sober solitude dwelling upon the magical nature and brilliance of the spirit filling everything I couldn’t deal with. I’m acutely aware of the tragic magic, but have learned to accept the divinity and necessity of every duality, and especially that the letter of the law will never be what the spirit of the law intended.

As a Sag rising now almost 75 years old, an astrologer and metaphysician and experienced a Sag Sun father, I see Sag travels embraced through the many dimensions of living. Travel is the journey of vast experiences to be able to weigh the true from the false from youth through elderhood. Through the types of travel experiences, the physical, spiritual and metaphysical explorations of the stages of the earthly physical seasons and the human seasons, thus coming to the capacity to see through the veil of the human structures of dishonesty and corruptions placed upon the people. "The people parish for lack of knowledge," therefore, it is imperative that the human must experience the vast depths of inner and outer travel of the various dimensions and stages of living and maturing to come to a penetration of the veil of how it is we're all getting the "screws". For example, the journey of the humanly manipulated inflation of homes, called "appreciation". The houses "appreciate", and therefore we pay higher property taxes and home insurance, and insurances on autos due to this dishonesty. "Be not of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind", that is the Sag journey!!!

Sag rising I have a lot of Virgo and chart ruler in Pisces- but this rebellious, nihilistic, hedonistic tension versus a righteous, enobled one is the best analysis I have heard. I was born in the 70s and there were a lot of woody Allen films in my early home. It wasn’t until my discovery of the traditional significance of the rising sign, that the pieces and foundations of my life started to make sense. This Sag identity is one that I feel strongly - It’s the only fire in my chart, and with only Neptune there in the first. I have always given off an idgaf bad attitude - almost an arrogance or kind of cynicism, when I am a deep feeler with bottomless sensitivity. I don’t drink since my 20s, but this Sag rising really came out strong when I did. This wildness. In my 40s it has settled into more reflection and philosophy, although I also know that I have major issues with any kind of conformity in corporate work environments, so there’s that. I love how you explain the yin/yang components of the mutables. I really love this series and deeper look into the signs ! Thank you

Ah, finally I hear about yin side of Sag which is relatable for me! My sun is 2 degrees Sagittarius, and your description of the centaur as the dance between freedom & responsibility speaks volumes to me! This has been a constant internal challenge in my life,. Although, as I’ve aged I have tempered the wild horse within, she is much more graceful and perhaps wise now. In my early 20’s the wild horse had full rein! You could find me dancing and partying with the best of them til 6am at raves on the weekend. Psychedelics were a big part of my life, even though it didn’t take much to expand my heart/mind/soul. In graduate school I quit partying, and pursued a counseling degree from a Buddhist inspired program in Boulder, Colorado, being the first person in my family to move away from Georgia in years! I continue to call Colorado home, it’s a great place for the horse in me! The human aspect of the centaur has shown up more with my connection to earth, practicality, stability, and personal responsibility. My life is quiet, peaceful (for the most part) and I try to inspire hope and encourage healthy autonomy & boundaries for my clients. Astrology and yoga have been my primary spiritual practices for years, and nature is one of my greatest teachers. Lastly, my partner and my dog allow me to tap into this innate quality (for me) of levity, play and joy. All qualities I love- nihilism is hard for me to stomach. My apologies for this long post. I have always felt torn between wild reckless behaviour which often resulted in apologies the next day due to excessive partying and the need to be responsible and have higher purpose!!! This made so much sense! I have Mars, Mercury and Neptune all in Sag too! I also have Capricorn as my rising and moon which has helped me stay on track and driven I believe. With Sag in the 10th place of career, I relate to so much of this! I have the Moon, Mars, Neptune and MC all in Sag. I work in a big institution, in a lunar career and am openly against anything petty or unnecessarily restrictive. If it’s not expansive, inspirational, philosophical etc I don’t see the point! However, I also value precision and professionalism. As a Sag rising I've been always told that I'm too idealistic + the world doesn't work that way. I'm driven by a sense or purpose, if it doesn't I no longer continue or I don't start in the first place. I consider it a blessing but yes, world don't necessarily works that way, people continue doing things despite not having a greater meaning behind them. I innately think about things on its purest form. As a sun in Leo in 9th and sage rising I believe I've been repressed and misunderstood, and since a time now I'm feeling I'm breaking some chains step by step, un-learning. With venus in the 8th Ive spent most of life reflecting others in relationship and not understanding myslef at all. When you began talking about the tension between lawful and hedonistic I saw that very clearly in myself. I love rules that make sense but reject to the point of intentional flagrancy arbitrary bindings. "Really? Tell me why. Oh, ok that makes sense, cool." That my ascendant ruler! Hahaha!! Thank you!

Sag 🌞 square ♓ ASC here with a loose opposition from approaching Mars to Sun. As a child all the way into my mid 20's I was very skilled in verbal warfare against hypocrisy. It still triggers me but through my years of traveling other countries to emerse myself in knowledge of self, yoga, shamanism, ancient and indigenous cultures, etc I learned that usually what we reject in other people we have already rejected these same parts of ourselves due to conditioning and/or marginalization. It's been a great journey to see where I was unconsciously not living in my truth and authenticity. Even a more exciting one to use that awareness to be open to the return of my light. Still, I feel a righteous rage when witness to violations of freewill or lifestyles of excess that lack generosity.

This is fascinating. If I had known my husband was a Saggitarius rising I might not have dated him (and we've been together 13 years). He didn't do homework in High School because he thought it was dumb but went to college and is now an Engineering Test Group Lead. 😆 He also played out with a rock band (which came to an end when I met him for unrelated reasons). He was a crazy partner too that, from stories I heard, probably should have died from drinking so much (at one point he puked blood). Now, he's like me- no alcohol, no tobacco, etc- and he even bothers me about eating too much sugar 😆. My best friend in High School was a Sun Saggitarius. She was down right wild and one time became so drunk (I wasn't) started hallucinating.

I’m a Sagittarius sun, mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Uranus and my sun is in my 9th house. I’m absolutely a glutton for knowledge of everything and I do love to travel and experience different cultures and I can follow the rules as long as they make sense but if I think that it’s a rule that makes something unnecessarily difficult I won’t follow it unless I am in a situation that comes down to follow the rules or remove myself. I am spiritual not religious. Religion in my opinion was created to keep people controlled and ignorant two things I despise. I don’t like the stereotype that Sagittarius’s are teachers because I don’t want to teach people I want to plant the seed and give a foundation for people to learn deeper on their own because I don’t have the patience to teach people stuff that I sought out to learn on my own I want to exchange knowledge with people and have a reciprocal student, teacher dynamic

I am a Sag rising, yea I like freedom with purpose, but freedom for me is almost a natural given thing, maybe because I have Jupiter and Uranus there. I don’t like parties, I like authentic joyful places and events, which are not easy to find. But traveling is a thing, because traveling give us broad perspectives of cultures and humanity, traveling is a very Jupitarian thing, you want to contain the world.

Since I was young, I have felt shifts in my personality. Sounds weird… Pisces sun, Cap moon and Sag rising. My Pisces child is very nurturing!! She became once I had babies. Thank you! You nailed it, I am a Sag Sun, and you confirmed my life. I did choose to incarnate as a Sag on the Tibetan All Saints day and the Immaculate Conception day December 8th. I was brought out of the womb by the hand of man....C section. doctors were afraid my mother would die and there was no promise of me me making it here.
