Use distilled water always in these humidifier I got ne a distilled water machine off Amazon it makes several gallons per day. Distilled water is pure like water that comes out of the sky. Plus you won’t find that pinkish slime in the base when you go to clean it. I have tested this on 2 of these and multiple times. Even trying to use filtered water from my Kitchen Aide water line and if it’s not distilled water you will see a pinkish slime when you go to clean your humidifier I tested this 10 times on each machine so I know distilled water is better. I use distilled water in everything I use. It keeps the nasty stuff that’s in public water even though you may use filtered water those filters don’t clean water 100% like distilled water is pure and it’s the purest form of water. That helps with the lime scale white stuff and I have realized over the years that using distilled water even if you have a entire home filter in your water line it’s still not as good as using distilled water. I am currently wanting to get a machine for the entire home that can MAJE DISTILLED WATER for my entire home.
