The glazers didn't put the money in when they came in. There never got the best players, always went for the cheaper option

Pogba, Antony, Macguire were cheap?
@leemccann887 күн бұрын
@ShinigamiScouse7 so after 10 year's in charge they start to spend money because between 2005 and 2015 they never spent big and there got first choice players so dose that answer your question

@@leemccann88 what about RVP, juan Mata, Angel di Maria, Berbatov, Anderson, Ferdinand, etc?
@leemccann886 күн бұрын
@ShinigamiScouse7 rvp got him on the cheap. Ferdinand was before the glazers. And Anderson and nani came in with the money from winning the league the year before. Do your history man. Glazers paid for the club on a credit card then got the club and loaded the debit on the club. Club can't spend because of the repayments back to the banks.
@leemccann886 күн бұрын
@ShinigamiScouse7 sold Ronaldo for 80m and didn't reinvest the money. Got berba because they won the champions league and the league. While city were buying superstars to be for big money

I still blame moyes. How can you go in straight after Sir Alex and have the cheek to tear up everything that took him 27 yrs to build? Getting rid of the scouting network, the coaches, the training, the menu at Carrington???? Paying OVER Fellainis release clause cos he thought he could get him on the cheap. Oh, and i would love to have been a fly on the wall when this conversation happened " right lads, my no2 is Gary Nevs little bro. Rio, Robin, Ryan, Wazza, Carrick, Valencia, if you have any problems with tactics or technique.... hes your man" 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Ferguson is the GOAT but he definitely became a mercenary for Glazers towards the end. Even his £2m a year deal post-retirement was to keep him in line so that he doesn't blow the whistle on the daylight robbery Glazers have been getting away with since day 1 of their takeover.

I understand what Ogden is saying but United had won the league and reached the UCL Final before they lost to City the following season. We did let some players grow old and players like Anderson, Cleverly and Gibson were not up to the standard of players that City signed

You nailed it.. United used to just but the best players in the Prem. Once the profits went up and clubs didnt need to sell united couldnt just buy players doing well in the Prem. City and Chelsea can outspend them, Liverpool can outscout them, Arsenal and Chelsea can offer London lifestyle...

It is laughable to put any of this on Ferguson this club management is utterly clueless they wasted billions of pounds some decent players who were not successful a lot on mediocre players who were overpriced and a ton of money on huge salaries for a team which doesn’t know how to win. It is fair to argue they were in the middle of a rebuild when Ferguson left and his players fitted his style of football which was hard to replicate. But that isn’t his fault it is the club for not knowing how to function and without gil and Ferguson. You look at the insane amount of debt leverage against the club the decline in facilities the absurd wages that the players get and a whole bunch of pointless executives on big salaries adding no value that was down to the owners and senior managers. For me I do question certain pundits fixation on how United used to be things have moved on you can’t live in the past and replicating what Ferguson did over a decade ago will just hold you back but that is just my opinion.

Ferguson said Phil Jones was like Duncan Edwards. Ferguson had a habit of mixing people up as he once said he wanted to sign Spurs winger Christian Bale (Batman), he meant Gareth Bale. So obviously he didn't mean Duncan Edwards, he meant Man Uniteds pervert ex chairman Martin Edwards.

Before Fergie joined Man United had 7 titles to Liverpool's 18. Despite everyone saying that the EPL is more even and competitive, there have been distinct club periods. Fergie re-ushered in United 2nd golden era. Chelsea's period followed in the early 2000s but got rid of Mourinho too early. Then City. If Liverpool are smart then the next period is theirs for the taking. MU - It takes careful planning, luck and a long time to build a period of dominance... it not about just changing managers. The game had changed towards the end of Fergie's reign and the identity needed an adjustment as well. The 80s English football style against Barcelona in those 2 CL finals should have been obvious. It's spilt milk now... the fan base is getting accustomed to the new identity which we see today. Everything old is new again.

What a load of bollocks , In 1986 when SAF took over , the narrative was whether he will awaken the sleeping giants . Manutd's revenue were the highest in the 80's despite liverpool's success during that time . United still had the biggest stadium , 7 league titles , A European cup , 3 ballon d'or winners , a large fanbase . Then it became even more since 90's.

People say City are who they are because of money and that is true but give them credit. They spent very well in those first few seasons. Look how much money is wasted by high spending teams these days that equates to zero success, United being the biggest example. City went out and got a utility man from Barcelona in Yaya Toure for 25 million and made him a superstar. Kompany was drifting between defense and midfield in Germany before City made him one of the best defenders the league has ever seen for 6 million. Even David Silva and Augero who were signed for 25 million and 35 million respectively were not nailed on Premier League legends from the jump. They were young guys just entering their prime in Spain. Fernandinho was another great signing. They basically built their first run on this core of guys. They spent but they spent well. being able to acquire all of these legit Premier League legends would be difficult even for a world class manager armed with a billion pounds.

Ogden spewing nonsense. Poor recruitment? Man Utd win the league the following season. In fact they won because of good recruitment. There was a succession plan. Moyes was there to take over the reigns. He was advised not 5o change the coaching staff but he did anyway and that's when it went south. Utd have had sub par coaching from there on in. Even so called world class coaches failed to inspire. Mourinho almost did well because of his tactics and nothing else. Man Utd have always been a team that is driven by inspiration instead of tactics. Solskjaer did well considering his level. If he had not signed Bruno and Ronaldo Utd would not be where they are. Those 2 created polarizing opinions of how Utd should proceed with improving the squad. So called stars leaking news from the dressing room, took over the dressing room . Now Utd is full of leakers and polarizing signings and managers and fans, confusing owners and cornering them into desperation, making uneducated decisions about player profile

United has all the resources , Just need the right guys in charge to spend it , Better than not having any money at all . Wait till the new stadium in 2030 , Revenues per year will be more than 1 billion pounds
