Luckily when my parents split I lived with mom, and though she's christian she wanted us to believe what we wanted. Realising that Christianity was the biggest toxic relationship is one thing that helped pull me out of it😂 I was raised catholic, went to a catholic school filled with students from other Christian denominations. I was talking with a friend one day and mentioned how, no matter how hard I prayed, God always seemed so far away. She told me that, to her, God was like a best friend, husband, boyfriend etc. always close and willing to listen. Advices me to try seeing him that way. So I prayed harder, read my Bible, did everything to feel God’s love. It was during that process that it clicked in my head, ‘If God were human and he was acc my boyfriend, this would be such a toxic relationship’. It all went downhill after that💀

People who are fulfilled understand that there is no use in material gain because you can never have enough of it. Not every Christian is a radical crazy who doesn’t want you to go to college or get a kickass job. But the only true thing that matters is Jesus in the end. Jesus was all about getting knowledge and truth, he was a skilled tradesman which was basically the highest form of education in his day. You just lie to yourself to say you are fulfilled when your quote on quote “fulfillment” is not lasting. Edit: Also I do agree it’s stupid to ban books about same sex marriage in public libraries but do 3rd graders really need to know ANY sex ed? Regardless of gender or sexuality it’s definitely weird to teach a kid anything to do with straight or gay sex ed, I do see the case for only romantic relationships in books but I’m not sure if most “banned” books are like that. Homophobia sucks at the end of the day and I hate that we are “known” as homophobes to some people.

I grew up Baptist and was in private Baptist schools for 12 years. My best years were when I finally was able to go to public school. I felt free and not judged. The most judgemental people are religious people like this that “don’t judge”. I finally figured out I was queer and had to stay in the closet for the longest time in order to “fit in” in my school or I would get kicked out. Here I am today, thousands of my parents and other family members dollars down the drain because I no longer am Christian like my family pushed so hard for me to be. I don’t resent anybody that is Christian because of my religious trauma or beliefs but seeing stuff like this reminds me of what I went through. The only nice and accepting Christians I've talked to are my two online friends. They're Filipino and their parents run a massive church (not naming it since they're currently hiding in Japan cuz some ppl are coming after them for accepting lgbt's) They are genuinely the kindest people I've met, they didn't even mind when I told them I was atheist. And they never pushed their believes on me or told me I was going to hell. They have single handedly changed my view on Christians and Catholics

This is the kind of guy who would have kept me a militant atheist. (I stopped the militant part because I realized I was being just as fanatic as your average Fundamentalist and that I was being _horrifically_ hypocritical. Prettying much every verse he spewed was taken completely out of context, especially the healing part (the Bible never promises instantaneous healing). “Sharing the gospel” should be Christians having a lifestyle of loving and caring for others like Jesus did, not screaming in people’s faces.

im not sure “content” (if you can call it that) creators understand how dangerous walking onto campus and entering school buildings can be. i go to a really small college and just last week we had a dude follow a student into the building and sit in on a class until he was escorted out. in a bigger school its much harder to detect intrusions. this makes it seem SO EASY to break into any private institutes and there are many people out there willing to do harm with this info. last year our main building was robbed and a staff member was specifically targeted and the whole thing managed to go undetected. its terrifying, and it effects the safety of the students.
