my favorite of the bunch. only observation I've seen is the repair to some high stress points needing patches of sorts installed when using grass field landings. I hope this will be my first plane to own!

Like the format of the videos showing construction and talking with builders. Talking with the suppliers at air shows with the noise is OK, but really like the builder shots and video clips as well.

Best bang for the Buck.....And you can put it on a trailer and store it at home, saving more money than you spent building the Aeroplane.....

the 1/2 Volkswagen engine is one of if not my favorite small powerhouse engines and is a big part of this hotrod looking aircraft to me. While I wouldent get a cruising aircraft like this as a 103 class, as a full kit built that can cruse at 100mph with very good efficiency and range at a nice price point this is a solid single person aircraft. Some downsides are that you still likely need a hanger space as it cant really come apart to be taken home on a trailer and it is only single person where other aircraft like the Arrow 2 are around the same size but can manage 2 people at not much higher cost. Also the quoted cost to get a kit in this video is just wrong unless your comfortable cutting and bending sheet metal and have the tools to handle some of the more fine construction elements. Their full kits, which are still not the easiest to build and will take a first time builder probably around 500-600 hours, come with the metal cut and formed but almost everything else still needing to be done. these kits run about $20,000 and do not include firewall forward elements such as the engine and propeller, or comfort things like cushions for the seat. Its a wonderful aircraft but Id only recommend it to someone that has a place to store it and if comfortable with aluminum construction or the extra time required to become comfortable with it. Expect to spend realistically about $26,000 and about 500-600 hours. for the kind of aircraft it is and the strength of the build this is a very good little cruising aircraft. If your looking for a part 103 you do have to give up a lot of its strengths just for the looks however. performance is one of its big strong suites.

Uhhhhh... maybe no training is *legally* required, but without some training that's about as smart as giving a chimpanzee a loaded shotgun. Fun to watch from a distance though. Having said that, would love to fly one. (already have my certificate though).
