Gm did this like 18 years ago with the quadrasteer. They were super reliable for anyone worried about the longevity. I loved my 2500hd, tighter turning radius than my civic.

Some systems are adaptive. If you are going high speed they will do something like this. If you are going slow the wheels will turn opposite way to help with turning radius. Not really new, I just don’t know if the hummer does that.

Some cars with Rear wheel steer already do that when switching lanes at high speeds. Mercedes S, Rolls Royce Culli/Phantom, BMW 7, any Porsche or Audi with Active rear steer.

GM had this like 20 years ago on Silverados. It was called Quadrasteer I believe. Service department at that time said it was a nightmare of technology that they would have to learn. I will say it was a little differentin the fact that the wheels turned opposite of each other rather than together. Pretty cool though.

Quadrasteer was adaptive, so more useful than this current crap. It would turn opposite at low speeds, go rear neutral at mid speed, and turn parallel (like this one) at high speed. This parallel turn at low speeds is kinda useless.

After all, this was done during the Woodward Dream Cruise - basically the largest open-air car show from Pontiac to Ferndale. Showing off everything from classics to brand new production vehicles. It is shorter than a full-size pickup, because shorter is better off-road. Longer vehicles have a lower breakover angle, which means they can get hung up easier cresting obstacles. It's literally not small though, you need to see it in person.
