Simple Recipe brings 100's, and Watch a Hummingbird build a nest, feed babies and fly off, right on my kitchen window, I have so swing the feeder in the house with nest to clean daily. All this done here in less than 6 minutes. Smart mother bird, made this nest out of the rain, under shelter with a great supply of food.
Here are the SAME Solar Fountain Kits I buy for our Yard and this is an affiliated link to the company: www.ebay.com/itm/204084771665...
and here is another affiliated link as they all sell fast: www.ebay.com/itm/275425741781...
Here is the First Nature Hummingbird Feeder that for me keeps the bees out, this is an affiliated link and the price is GREAT! I even bought one on Ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/275437437866...
and this solar fountain with long cord: www.ebay.com/itm/113751245970...

So, I saved 2 hummingbirds that got caught in my screened in porch cause the wind blew the door open. Seemed to be a mama and a baby cause the one was super tiny, but nevertheless was holding her own flying with the bigger bird. They eventually got tired and let me pluck them off the screen, the bigger one flew right off but the baby looked stunned and just laid in my hand for a good 10 minutes. I took her out to the tree with the feeder on it, and ZOOM she flew off!! Since that day, I've seen these 2 birds constantly. I sat down by the tree and just watched them, and they both came inches from my face, little birdie landed on my head but quickly took off. I'm convinced by reading the comments these are the same birdies and I believe they were telling me thank you 😁

Beautiful video. This August, I had an amazing experience when I just put up a fresh feeder. A hummingbird came right up to it. So I stood still and watched. It began to fly around, then hoovered right in front of me. It seemed like it was checking me out. Then it flew around my head a couple of times, stayed a little while longer to feed some more before it flew away. I'm hooked!

@abogadojon

Me too. I was about twelve, and it was necessary to stand absolutely still for as long as 20 minutes, underneath the feeder, holding one finger out -- as if pointing the finger (barrel) of your hand like a gun. Females like the one in yr video were the most trusting. When they fed, hovering aside the feeder, I would ever-so-slowly move my finger to touch (offer, really) the soft underbelly of the hb. Sometimes, slowly, the little 3-toed feet would extend down to grasp the finger. They weighed nearly nothing. A great experience to see such a magnificent and beautiful bird up close and their long, thin tongues. Those were ruby-throated males & females visiting a river valley in summertime mountains in Colorado. My understanding is that they migrate from Canada to Mexico and back. At that time I also saw a (very) few Rufus (aggressive, orange-throated) hb's. My apologies to the real bird-watchers here for my likely mangling the proper vocabulary. You were very fortunate! How interesting! Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the juveniles will return and how you might ID them. Luv from Tex-Mex border, Rio Grande valley.

I have neurodegeneration. I can tell that the hummingbird symphony actually is entraining and therapeautic on my nervous system. I may listen to this regulary to see if it has any effect in healing. Beuftiful story. - lovely! I will have my hummingbird family after what you said. I had squirels I fed every morning from second floor apaartment. I was bedridden with my Persian cat. The squirrels would come right up to the window to get their peanuts. One time, the squirrel got in the apartment, hardwood floor. My cat was chasing wildly after it. Neither my cat or the squirrel could get proper footing but both were lightning fast. It was a FLURRY of activity for about ten minutes. HYSTERICAL. I didn't like leaving them. I never fed squirrels again, bc actually they have fleas and arent the healthiest to have anywhere near your cat. I did NOT want my cat catching it. He sure enjoyed watching as the squrrel came up to the window with sill outside of it.

I want to thank you for inspiring me. I used to feed hummingbirds when we lived in California and it was easy cause they were year-round residents where I lived. One of my fondest memories was of a tiny male who would fly by and kick my 6'9" hubby in the head if he got to close to "his feeder". He was so brave and cute. We moved to northeast Texas a few years ago and I haven't seen any hummers. After watching your video 2 days ago, I did googled hummingbirds in Tyler, TX. I found out they should be here now. Well, I immediately rushed to my local nursery and bought a trumpet vine and a couple of other hummingbird attractant plants and planted them. Early next morning, we mix up some feed and hung a feeder right outside my kitchen window. Imagine my utter surprise that while I was making coffee this morning and discussing with my hubby how long it might take to attract any hummers when one came to the feeder at exactly that moment!?! I know it sounds like I'm making this up, but it really happened. Only just about 24 hours from hanging the feeder!! I just can't believe it happened so fast and I'm thrilled. Just hope one is spunky enough to kick my hubby in the head. It doesn't hurt hubby and it's just so damn cute and funny. Just love your videos.

As a volunteer wildlife rehabber, one of the most incredible experiences I had was rehabbing an injured hummingbird...her beak was so tiny it fit inside the tip of a syringe when I fed her

I just read your statement on here. I wrote a note on here for some help with a female hummingbird with a broken wing. I have never helped a hummingbird before. What thoughts would you recommend to get her rehabbing to fly again. She walks good on those little legs and drinks a lot of sugar water. I put her in a large mesh box with no lids. She can't fly at all. Her wing was bleeding but it's quit now and fresh new features are coming in. She chirps a lot and when you talk to her she chirps back at you. She seems fine Otherwise from the broken wing. I just don't know how to get her to fly again. When she gets all of her feathers back in, Will she then fly again? If she is permanently disabled from the wing... How can I take care of her properly? She is a wild little bird. I am not going to Keep her caged up. She has been here for a long time on the place that I live. Mohave dessert California. There are a group of other hummingbirds here to. They always fly around the house and they stand on the mesh box and seem to talk to her a lot. Anyway what are your thoughts on this and what advice can you give me for a good quick recovery for her to get her back to living correctly again for a hummingbird?

@@oklahomafreedom5536 Hi Rick you are a sweet person to care so deeply..without seeing her I cant tell- where did you find her? Are you sure the wing is broken? If you feel around the joints on the bad and good side you mighy be able to tell- do you have a wildlife sanctuary anywhere near you? If shes eating and singing that's a good sign it's not serious

It's funny how they get used to us. I am the only person of my family from whom my birds do not shy away. But l also get the wild turkeys knock on my glass door to let me know they need more food. I sit there watch them, listen to them and realize man has never been expelled physically from the Garden of Eden, the expulsion was mental because we are still physically right here but we hardly ever notice this beautiful majestic garden we call Mother Earth

I get a lot of hummingbirds every season in NJ... I really enjoy them as much as you... I make 2 pitchers daily .. each pitchers holds 2 cups sugar 8 cups of water ... I go thru both pitchers twice a day...I change my liquid a few times a day if it’s in the 90’s . My birds love the cool liquid...spoiled lil beauties...I have a total of 8 feeders all around my house.. the ruby red hummingbirds sometimes guard a feeder and will not allow any others to feed... so I have 8 feeders.. that way everyone gets to feed.. I also plant all the plants they love to feed on... I love these lil beauties.... I’m so sad when the seasons over and they migrate back home... you never know if they are still around so I leave my feeders up until Halloween... but I know they will be back next season:-) I’ll miss you little ones and have a safe journey:-)
