Good drone video. 👍 As some one who has been in the Golden Spike Tower twice, they did it right when they built it. The 8th floor is the enclosed floor with a great view with plenty of exhibits on display. The 7th floor is an open air deck tucked under the 8th floor, so even if it's raining, you are protected, but you get to hear and smell the action below. Nothing like diesel exhaust in the morning! About 30 years ago I was there when all they had was a small elevated deck. Maybe 12' high. It was near the eastbound hump. It was pretty sad. With a group of friends we did a rail fan trip ending up in North Platte. Again this was prior to the Tower and also pre-9/11. Things were very relaxed and we chatted with friendly employees as we "drove" through the yard. One employee directed us to an area where they had the wrecks parked. I could go on, but let's just say we saw a lot and did it safely and respectfully. But since 9/11 things have changed and I wouldn't think of doing that again. But they do give tours of the yard during a rail fest days usually in Sept. It's worth checking out. 👍😁🇺🇲

@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 Most of the videos of military trains that I have seen are of military vehicles like HUMVEES in various configurations, and various 6-axle trucks in different tonnage configurations. I think I have seen some tanks on one prior video. Wide World of Trains catches an occasional military train running on the CSX mainline through Dunkirk, New York. A number of these military trains had Kansas City Southern engines in the Southern Belle paint scheme. These trains might be on their way to or from Fort Drum which is northeast of Watertown, New York. I remember a video that WWoT posted on KZbin a few years ago of a military train that had to stop somewhere near Dunkirk, New York because a Union Pacific engine in the consist had an engine fire. I do not remember the location where the train had to stop but the local fire department was called to put out the fire. The Union Pacific engine was left in the consist and more than likely was dropped off in Erie, Pennsylvania or dropped in Cleveland, Ohio for repairs. (Posted 7 July 2024 at 1720 CDT.)

In other words, they haven't devised a way to auto-connect air hoses and such, have they?
