Competitive Pokemon Singles has now peaked with the beginning of Jimvitational. An incredible invite-only Gen 3 OU tournament featuring the best of the best.
Who is the best in ADV OU? Who will utilize Skarmory, Tyranitar or even Camerupt? Some will never figure all that out.

Holy shit HumYumm with the most timely crit ever. This is why every tourney should always be best of 3. Biggest threat by far ready to wreck the team as everything was low and one crit and it’s gone.

She did better towards the end. She was pretty rough to listen to at the beginning of the tournament, especially if she was co narrating with someone. She always filled any gap in action with random filler words

@@Dragostorm21 sorry, literally 2/3 of everything, and Skarmory turns one of Steel's weaknesses into an immunity, going up to 13/17 types resisted or immune.

@@BenjaminGlatt i was just being pedantic about the "literally" part, steel was only "fair" because they didn't give them recovery (outside of wishrachi). gen 4 and 5 had insane dragons which were also only checked by steel, so they were a necessary broken piece. but i agree. Skarm is especially nuts, all of it's weaknesses are special when it is a physical wall

Hi Jim. I would donate but I don't like using PayPal because I don't have a business account (and neither does whoever set up the link) - it's just common sense not to use your real name online. It's also a bit dangerous for you because people can chargeback and cost you a lot of money (since PayPal makes the receiver pay for the charge back). If you could set up a different payment method that doesn't require PayPal that would be better.

It's absolutely mindblowing that, when you could adjust moves to have more reasonable stats, and make a game where people don't constantly have to apologize for their own feeling of an undeserved win from RNG, or go "that sucks" multiple times in the same game -- we don't, because nintendo chose not to in the early 2000's I guess?

if you remove rng from pokemon you aren't playing pokemon. You could make a game inspired by pokemon without the shit rng stuff, but it's not exactly the same

Crits are ultimately a necessary part of the game, othwrwise boosting your defenses repeatedly would just be too consistent of a strategy. I do think that 1.5x damage is a lot more fair and easier to play around than 2x damage, so I'm glad they toned it down in later generations.
