Cannabis is a gateway drug. It can potentially lead the user to harder drugs over time. Like alcohol and cigarettes - if overused and abused, addiction can occur and the need for harder substances would be sought after. The best solution is education. These are all tied to the brain's reward system and that reward system if overstimulated - will eventually become less and less effective thus requiring heavier and heavier trigger dosages.
