The advocates are good at twisting linguistic language to make their case. Using word like "criminalization" make it sounds very sensational so that people will feel guilty for having an opposing view. There is nothing criminal about removing homeless encampments. If I want to add a room to my house....I have to get it registered and coded by the city...otherwise I pay a fine and they will force me to take down such room. Business had to get permit from the city to add outdoors dining. So why are homelessness advocates think its ok to prop a tent anywhere they please....and then whine about it. They accused opposition as shorted sighted and not being humane. These are their ammunitions to silence the opposition. The problem is that they have no true resolution and resort to name calling and shaming. Advocates never have any true resolutions....but have plenty insults if you opposed their view.

I just don't see how it's compassionate to let homeless people live in the streets. I think even being in a prison would be preferable to life on the streets. They need some place to put these people, I don't care if it's aslyums, prisons, halfway houses, shelters, old military barracks, anywhere... just get them off the streets, for their sake and the sake of the rest of the citizens. It can't be allowed to continue, something has to give. These people are in a desperate and unsustainable situation, and they are choking the life out of the rest of the city while putting themselves in danger too... or hell, just loosen up the building codes a little and let them build flophouses again. Even that would be better than just letting them pitch tents wherever they feel like it.

That's what I did I was on the street and decided I didn't want to live that way - I did not and do not do drugs but drug abuse and alcoholism was all around me - so I got into a homeless shelter and now looking for work. I'll take a busser job or cashier job for starters please. Just in case anyone out there has a good lead. 🙂 Those on the sidewalks are there by choice!
