@@JohnnyNJones Yeah, you can't please all the people all the time! Once the skip was so strong, we couldn't even talk to each other when in convoy! No more than 40 meters apart, using 4 watts FM, which is better than AM for that usually!

@@JohnnyNJones I’m gonna look into trying one out. My issue if I don’t have my truck I can’t use magnetic antenna. Used a clip on carbon fiber trunk. Had a professional use swr meter but using a crappy mobile midland 855? So curious if you need swr with this unit or Cld u screw with antenna height etc to get close to that “1” mark

@@eugenekozlowski1949 The SWR meter on this unit works just fine. You shouldn’t have to have an extra SWR meter. Just make sure with whatever antenna you use that the clip on or magnet mount is attached to enough metal. The biggest problem I have had with installs is that my antenna won’t have enough metal to make a good ground plane and it can be really finicky. But a fiberglass whip that is mounted on a side mirror usually does the trick 👍 They also make hood mounts, there’s all sorts of cool mounts you can get.
