(5 Dec 2017) Czech president Milos Zeman and his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader discussed immigration and the protection of EU borders on Tuesday.
Ader is on a two day visit to the Czech Republic.
Ader said they agreed on the need to strengthen border controls and curb immigration, adding that illegal immigrants needed to be returned to their home countries.
Zeman thanked the visiting president for supporting his country's views on migrant quotas "which are being imposed on the Visegrad countries by force."
The Visegrad Group is a gathering of four central European states, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
The four have opposed an EU plan to impose obligatory migrant quotas on member states.
