Yeah that really made this a nice one. Even though the ones who got stuck all got stuck for being mean or selfish, they got punished by having to dance and follow them everywhere, then got rewarded for helping the boy. Their life went from mundane to extraordinary for repenting.

The one thing I don't get is *WHY DID EVERYONE WHO COULDN'T MAKE THE PRINCESS LAUGH GET THEIR HEAD IMPALED!?* I mean my goodness that's way overboard for what the situation called for. Fun story regardless, and the dancing lamb was adorable.

It was considered pagan by theological institutions at the time. Most Hungarians were Catholic after the Thirty Years' War. As such, Rome fluctuated regarding secular influence on European culture. Women performing publicly was scandalous to most people. Hence, the farmer's daughter got paddled by the baker's wife. She, in turn, took the crozier of the village priest as punishment for all.

I wonder why the princess was depressed, maybe she had an ex boyfriend that broke up with her
@musicgirl123576 жыл бұрын
Maybe she didn't want to be in an arranged marriage to a man she never knew. Think about it people would in those days often did not marry for love but political gain. It was especially the case for royalty and she might not have wanted to be a pawn for political gain thus why she could be depressed. Who knows maybe she also liked a guy with a sense of humor. Ii know it's odd looking at why a princess in a folktale is depressed but it's still fun to theorize.
