Damn. Some huge ass arguments are happened here. By the way, i'm from Hungary too, but i don't really care about what country did what. Of course We did bad things to Slovaks and to others, they did the same, but there is nothing to do about it. It's the past. You can feel hate against them or us, but it's useles. With hate an agression there will be more problems and that's why there are wars. People can't accept that you can't change the past. But you can controll the future. If there were only 2 countries that there is not a single human that hate the other (sometimes for nothing) than maybe they could work things out together and maybe they can start a wave. Of course this will never happen, because there will be alwasy hate and agression and there won't be a time where people will realize that this won't lead anywhere. Just imagine this: We could be more well developed if we didn't had to pay for soldiers, guns, and rebuilding after a war. I don't feel hate against Slovakia neither to Romania. Why? Becouse there is no reason. Of course they got the "biggest bite" from Hungary, but we have to admint that around 87-90% of that land were lived by Romans. I have a lot of friends from Romania, Slovakia. If you're at least in 8th grade, try to remember to that day when Serbia killed that mutch of Hungarian people. You can hate them if you want. But don't argue about it. Not worth it to make conflict with the other just because they form another country that was our in the past and made bad things. Try to make friends with them. They can be nice too. Everybody can be nice if you don't let hate and agression lead you. I'm not saying that you have to love everybody. But if you don't like them, don't start arguing. nothing is wrong, but i just wanted to make some fun about these facts. I am neutral about these romanian-hungarian conflicts cuz nothing will change, autonomy in what, i dont know what szekelys means. We won't give autonomy to random regions in our country, its useless... Is like giving autonomy to Budapest cuz it has a small minority of germans.

Well if you take the "daco-romanian" theory: yes. If you take the Migration theory (romanians settling in modern day Romania in 9-10th century AD): not that much, yes the romanian population must be noted but Transylvania's development largely thanks to the Kingdom of Hungary. The truth is still a matter of debate. However, the are many points against the Daco-Romanian theory, it also does not explain the romanian language's clear connection to the albanian language. The Migration theory seems more clear, historically and linguisticly supported. I dont want to go into a crazy internet debate, maybe in the future we'll know more about old romanian history and find more evidence regarding the subject. Until then treat each other with decency. (give székelys autonomy, as it would also improve our relations) sincerely, a Patriotic Hungarian

Mr. asseater4351 ! There are several theories on the origins of modern day romanians. The one that is more popular, and taught to romanian children is the "Daco-Romanian" theory. It states that the dacians- hellenic people who inhabited Transylvania and other parts of Romania during the time of the late Roman Empire are the ancestors of the Romanians, who were conquered by the romans, and assimilated into the roman culture - under 150 years! The thing is most roman provinces didn't even assimilate under 500 years. After that the romans leaved the region in 271, due to the goth attacks, leaving the romanised dacians continue their lives, becoming the romanians. This theory has so many flaws! Firstly: linguisticly. It doesn't explain the romanian language's clear connection to albanian. Only a minor percent of romanian words are of germanic origin, even though germanic tribes lived with the dacians for 300 years, and the lack of hunnic, gothic, avaric words- they ruled the region for hundreds of years, even original hellenic words are missing! Second: historically, so the romans fully romanised Dacia, yet there were dacian speaking settlements even during the Reign of the Goths!
