I got the pedal and was a bit annoyed by the delay on the wet channel. I would say its more like 50ms. It feels like a slapback. It makes it hard to use as a vibrato. When you mix in the dry signal for more of a chorus it just doesn't feel tight so fast tempos are a no go. I found that you really have to play to the pedal to get it to sound good. A light touch and slow playing work best, just like knobs does here.
@maxsink5 жыл бұрын
Apparently it's just a byproduct of the chip that handles the pitch changes. Still really love the pedal though. The more I play with it the more I'm inclined to keep it

@@jitterbug__ I've been using it for about a year now and I do like it as a chorus. It has more character than most choruses especially with the filters.

I have this pedal - it's great (although as always I can't make it sound as great as it does here). Just a word of warning though as I haven't seen any video reviews mention this: the wet channel has a good 20ms delay (I'd guess) on it which means if you want to play live at 100% wet it can be quite challenging. I think a lot of video reviews just stick looper pedals through it so kind of forget sometimes about the practicalities of actually playing the thing live. I don't wish to impugn Knobs though as it is the greatest thing on KZbin by far. Ok bye
@j.willgooseesq.22235 жыл бұрын
20ms might be over-egging it a bit actually, but it's noticeable enough to distract. It's still a really great pedal though

@j.willgooseesq.22235 жыл бұрын
@@gabrieleponticiello6842 Let me measure it properly and get back to you. If you just want to play with a bit of random warble though the Fairfield pedal is a much easier one for real time wonkiness, it just doesn't have the wider expressiveness of this (excellent) pedal
@j.willgooseesq.22235 жыл бұрын
Eek. I just recorded it. The time difference between the dry and wet channel is actually pretty much 50ms. As I say it's fine to play with a bit of dry and wet mixed in together as then you've got a fantastic chorus pedal but if you are intending to use this as a 100% wet warble-factory then 50ms is quite a lot to play through.

@TheArtisticFlavor5 жыл бұрын
The warble sound is from pitch modulation, and can be found in chorus/vibrato pedals. Something like the Walrus Audio Julia is a Chorus/Vibrato Pedal that get's a nice liquidy warble sound. Some pedals use a combination of effects along with pitch modulation to shape their sound. This Hungry Robot pedal in this video adds some extra's, like filter's and reverb to shape it's sound. The Zvex Lofi Instant Junky adds compression. The Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water utilizes a very short bucket brigade delay with random modulation along with a low pass gate.
