When Hbox plays against someone hes comfortable with and knows they are an established top player (like Ginger, Zain etc.) , he actually plays the game and plays a lot better than against someone where that isn't the case(like Ben). And you can definetly see that Hbox is improving. At SCL Hbox vs Zain FD game went to last stock. Meanwhile at 4loko Zain 3 stocked Hbox on FD.

I think another part of Hbox doing worse in friendlies is just Puff. Similar to characters like Zangief, Puff thrives off of conditioning and fear which is way more likely to happen in a high pressure situation than in friendlies. Everyone takes way more risks and goes for more crazy stuff in friendlies that they won't in tournament.

Yeah, particularly since Cody doesn't really stand to gain much from helping Hbox. It's not like there are a lot of Puffs outside of HBox that are potential threats.

IBDW got 4th I believe mabye 3rd and hbox got 5th-8th

@@jdp7938 it was a single-elim bracket (not double) so 3rd and 4th place are shared (between ibdw and s2j). Hbox... didn't exactly end 5th-8th. Because of how relegation works, he actually ends up 9th-12th (in the top half of division 2).

Hbox went 0-2 losing to Zain and moky and is now in division 2, if he wins twice he gets back into D1 if he goes 1-1 he stays in division 2, if he goes 0-2 again he is eliminated from SCL and has to win a whole qualifier tournament just to get back in

Its the difference between games in general. Hating on hbox because he did a dumb option isnt always the case. Ultimate is a much different game. Just watch M2K and IBDW, same shit. M2k is too used to ultimate, so is hbox

Cant help but think of when hbox refused to play anyone in friendlies. Surprised ppl are willing to help him now when he’s always been so selfish. He could’ve helped the skill level grow and him playing friendlies as #1 would’ve helped the scene grow.

He didn't really play friendlies before he was number 1. That wasn't him doing it just to screw people. Now that he's willing to play them multiple people want to jump on that. Even though he hasn't been doing as well since online he's still the number one Puff in the world and still a top player.
