the year is 20XX. neither fox nor puff has taken off their scooby doo mask and revealed themselves to be exodia, the forbidden one. most of the mid tiers like shiek (lmao) have won a major, and will be riding that high for the next decade of melee (falcon certainly is). the game has evolved to the point that rock paper scissors decides matches, or it does according to the people saltiest over chain grabs. there's still so much more melee to be played.
