Great answer to the person who wanted to enact stricter regulations on getting a hunting license and to curtail unethical hunting. We don’t need more laws or any kind of government interference. Thanks for your video DD 👍👍

DD thanks for answering my email, I really appreciate your comments. Regarding why I chose the specific load for each bullet; I selected the most accurate group not the fastest because I figured at the end of the day accuracy is more important and the animal will still be dead. I may try other powders at some point, but for the moment Varget was what I had. Again, thanks, I value your input.

awesome vid, yet again. I have alot of comments, all positive. The one i will share is about the recoil. I too watched the other vid, and did not agree. I have owned 7 mags and '06's,, i no longer have a 7mm, i am of slim build, (ok a skinny Irishman) an ''06 is my limit on recoil, there is a difference in recoil. as a side note , i have 2 '06's

Another great video. Keep it up. You’re videos cause me to have to carve out time dedicated to listening which I’m glad to do. I wonder if the federal terminal ascent question stems from Ron Spomer’s interview with Aram Von Benedikt where he states that the 280ai using that load is his favorite.

Ethical hunting vs LR sniper syndrome, I like that others took your video to heart. Many ranges don’t have 1,000 yard lanes so I imagine these folks use mathematical calculations for everything past 300 or 500 yards that they may be able to access. Kinda reminds me of folks that believe what’s printed on the side of a box of ammo, LOL!

You could always get a long action Stainless All Weather, sent it to Hart to rebarrel, and get a Boyds or GRS stock. You’d have one hell of a rifle. But it would be less expensive to get a Sako 85 Grey Wolf.

thanks DDog for replying to my email about Remington 700 ' i can now make a more informed decision now if the REM 700 in question fits the right era and shoots good and the price is right ' naturally if the price is over the top i'll be looking at the X-Bolt hunter since i did see your video on that rifle as well , the camp mail video's are very interesting and informative , thankyou ' Barry .
@falba14922 жыл бұрын
I believe you’re better off with the X-Bolt. Three position safety, factory glass bedded, better extractor and a superior barrel. Miroku makes a hell of a product. I have one in 300 H&H, and get 0.5 MOA from 5 shot groups. Just one complaint, in the US the trigger is a bit heavy. The European trigger is lighter. Better yet, M70 Super Grade in Maple or French Walnut. Buy once, cry once lol.
@BCBtrucks642 жыл бұрын
@@falba1492 hi frank , the only reason i was interested in the rem 700 was because i think it is an 80's model and in beautiful condition (yet to find out its build date) there's a lot of un-answered questions about it still like price , barrel life and so on ' if i could get a Winchester super grade in the light maple I'd buy one of them in a minute but lately in Australia we are getting the run around with availability , I do know about the X-Bolt and its great features like the Miroku made barrels and have had my eye on them for some time now and thanks for the reply much appreciated
@falba14922 жыл бұрын
@@BCBtrucks64 We have an availability issue as well. If you can believe it, we even had a run on African cartridges when the burning and looting started in 2020. Ammunition and powder is just starting to make its way back on the shelves. Most of my favorite powders are re-branded ADI powders, so please get your ass back in gear and let’s get the supply chain fixed. I’ve always thought of the Remington’s as having subpar extractors. There is a reason why a lot of people convert them to a Sako style extractors. I’ve seen a lot of appealing Remington‘s, that came out of their custom shop. Very tempting. They are like very beautiful girl, who happens to lack the appropriate skill. A 2 MOA rifle was considered ok in the 80’s, not so anymore. Wait it out, the grand old 30-‘06 deserves the Rifleman’s Rifle.

Thinking I may upgrade my cap and ball muzzleloader to a inline 209 muzzleloader. The inline muzzle loaders are cheap. One of the cheapest guns you can get. I don't have a place to hunt anything long range because of trees. Hoping to win the bear license lottery this fall.
@martinfrenandez73502 жыл бұрын
The sargent who said long distance hunting was ethical ,needed to be answered because many hunters who make poor bullet selections and wonder why the animal ran off and was never recovered really need to undestand that the bullet is the only thing that touches the animal and if you choose a long distance bullet for hunting in the woods and it blows up with out entering the vitals is still very common with new hunters.
@natebaker10002 жыл бұрын
I think ethical hunting begins in your intro to hunting and upbringing, if your mentor takes you hunting and teaches you to fling lots of lead at long distances that's the way you will hunt, if your mentor teaches you to try and sneak up within 300 yards and make your shot count that's the way you will hunt. I agree we don't need government interference we need hunters to spend more time mentoring future hunters and future hunters to listen to the old timers and ask questions

Aren't Terminal Ascent and Trophy Bonded Tip basically the same bullet?
@desertdogoutdoors11132 жыл бұрын
The terminal ascent has a big hollow space under the tip, allowing it to expand much better at lower velocities and on soft targets. They tried to fix the weakness of the trophy bonded bullet.

Where do people get this shit and why are they so anxious to prove how stupid they are?"most bullets don't even begin to perform good until they get past 500 yrds.The guys shooting deer with rifles at 50 yrds are really the unethical ones" This is so stupid and ridiculous and outside the realm of reality that it didn't deserve a response.I wouldn't even know what to say to that,it sounds like something a 12 year old would say.
