Fished Nipigon 4 times with Captain Tim on the Nighthawk.....and the Nighthawk II. He is greatly missed. A true advocate for the lake, the fishery, and the entire area. and the fishing????? Damned good! Specks, walleye, pike, lakers..... some of the biggest fish I have ever caught came out of the rivers, bays, and islands on Nipigon.

Can you recommend any spots to camp near the river? I’d like to do some hiking and fishing from shore mostly!

I want to make sure credit is given to retired MNRF Biologist Rob Swainson for the recovery of the Nipigon system Brook Trout. If it was not for Rob's research and sacrifices you would not be able to produce this show. Thank You Rob🎣🐟

Jeff, I would love to know what materials you're using for your clouser. It certainly doesn't look like bucktail to me, is it possibly craft fur? BTW, I ask because I'm planning a trip to Nipigon & want to tie up some flies. Thanks

Hi Lee, I used Just add H2O Steve Farrar material. Top was smelt colour and bottom was redfish colour. Bucktail or synthetic material will all work. But take that orange colour with you for sure!

Love the content but you guys need to be more aware of exposing and destroying good fishing spits

Nipigon is no secret and quite frankly most of these episodes are lodges and guided so hardly secret

Can you elaborate on how good catch and release practices "destroy good fishing SPITS"? I think your comment is pretty selfish, we should all be able to responsibly enjoy the outdoors. Not to mention the people of this region depend on fishermen and women to come patronize their establishment so they can stay open. Without brookies and other trophy fish there would be no reason to go to and enjoy these places. I hope you change your closed minded view.......

Have you ever been to Nipigon? The fish move every freakin day. I’ve been going up there since 2015 and I have a total of 3 “reliable” spots after all that time and learning. A spot that’s killer one day, will be a Dead Sea the next. That lake is 75 miles long by 60 across, with a total of 2 launches. Hundreds of unmarked reefs… A “calm” day will likely involve 3-4 foot rollers. It’s totally uncharted. Nipigon has been known as a Brookie destination for decades, the fishing is better now than it has been in 70+ years and it’s only improving. The access has gotten tougher. The regs are very strict. Those fish just fine…
