If you got two equally skilled hunters facing off the one with long ammo is more likely to win due to extra pen, velocity and damage(including less damage dropoff). Wish the ammo types were more equal and had niches. Like Long could have the dropoff as is but reduce pen to medium ammo levels. Then up medium ammo pen to current long ammo. Now the types all have niches. Compact is numerous and tend to come in fast fire rate or high capacity weapons. Medium got big pen, long got good range. Some extra balancing to make to make up for it and boom.

I mean if you wanna cheap on meds and tools you can, but imo it's a really bad idea. Generally speaking those are consistently what win you fights both directly w/ util and healing to distract or heal quickly, as well as indirectly by helping you clear ai, move throughout the map more efficiently, and keep your health topped up. For consumables I use big stam, big regen, 2 small vitalities. Occasionally I drop 1 vitality for something like an ammo box or a poison bomb, but not often. Tools I always bring throwing axes and first aid kit. For solo I bring decoy fuses, for trios I bring chokes. For the last slot it's either a flare gun, a penny shot derringerr, or decoy fuses. The amount of times just having the pennyshot derringer has secured me kills is huge, the amount of times I've hit a ranged throwing axe kill, or just gotten a melee with it is also huge, the amount of times I got people to fall back with decoys is uncountable. Regen keeps me in the fight forever, stam makes me move forever (as well as staying consistent with movement during fights), small vitalities help me get my health topped up quickly in a pinch. I'd rather go with both derringers and my default consumables stack. Full thing only costs like 350 as well,

This is gonna be very in depth but bear with me. No. All guns CAN one tap, even derringers. Syringes are far faster than first aid, regen means you can move around and still be healing. No stamina in a gunfight means GG if you have to clear ai and you're out of melee stam, or if you're low on sprint stam and you're either in the open or need to reposition during a gun fight you're just screwed. Why wouldn't you bring ammo w/ something like romero when you're splitting normal and special ammo, and especially if you're solo v trio or you spam shots a lot? The advantage here (and I'm going to go off of having a legendary, because I usually do get a legendary) is that I can guarantee I'm ready for literally anything that happens within match, I'm guaranteed to have necro and resilience so that I can keep my team up. With resilience I waste less meds and be more ready to fight after revive, as well as having less chance of being killed instantly if I'm tagged or wall banged off of an audio queue for the revive. I'm guaranteed to have stamina for the first couple of fights, which means I won't be caught out without the ability to kill ai or reposition quickly. I'm guaranteed to have plenty of healing. I can always quickly deal with horses, cages, high up hives, armored, dogs, and I can punch immos if I need to. I can stop my teammates from burning, I can choke off windows to give people a cough, I can instantly burn players and some ai. I can kill boss pretty quick with stamina shot and throwing axes. This in exchange for having a gun that can still 1 tap, just not as far away, and maybe not as easily, but I still easily run 4-5 star lobbies with a marathon and a baseball bat. All this combined means that I almost never lose a match to being out of ammo, or not being able to clear ai, or running out of heals. My recommendation is if you're really that poor, skip out a little bit, but do it intelligently. Here's my "I'm hella poor" advice. Do all your weekly challenges if you can, free guns, tools, and money. Do all your Dark Tributes when they pop up, more free stuff. Steal anything mildly more expensive than what you came in with at the end of a match, unequip it, save it for later when you're feeling confident. Also get free guns and med kits off of your free hunters and stack them up. Refresh every single time you play, repeat the process.. Get good with marathon and get comfortable melee rushing, that way you can spend at minimum 68 on guns to get a marathon and skip a secondary, using the melee on throwing axes to rush players close. Alternatively, for a shotgun loadout. 66 for romero. 24 for a Nagant pistol. Other alternative will get easier the more you play, because it's use the stuff you've collected from players, challenges, free hunters, and dark tribute. For consumables, still bring big stam, it's 10 minutes of infinite movement, and 100 hunt dollars, if you combo 2 smalls its 20 hunt dollars more expensive. If you get conduit after your first survive, you'll never be caught out. 2 small regens for 40 a pop, small vitality for 20, you're looking at 200. If you upgrade that to a single big regen, you can drop your 2 small regents and get 2 small vitalities instead, it's significantly better for fighting, as you can pop regen at the start of a fight and top up quick twice with the small vitalities. This is 245 hunt dollars with stamina. If you're really strapped for cash, you can downgrade to either 1 small stam, which saves 40, making it 160. No stam and taking a second small vitality is 120, neither of these are recommended, but if you HAVE to save the hunt dollars, just don't take any and eat the no stam. 60 isn't worth it for 5 minutes. Not having stamina is very frequently rough, you usually can't reposition quick during fights, or deal with ai. Especially if you're ambushed your you have to cross map to go for bounty. It really slows you down, which can lead to you being caught in bad fights due to being slower than most other hunters. All of this keeps you off of ever running out of meds if you're smart with it. For tools first aid is free off of a free hunter, 50 for throwing axes, 25 for chokes, 36 for flare pistol. That is a 111 for tools. I'd recommend legendary hunters whenever it makes sense. It's an extra 100, sure, but if you win about 30-50% of the time, or you have a fair amount of free guns available I'd recommend it. The ability to guarantee the (in my opinion) core perks of necro and resilience is sooooooooooooo worth it. All in all, if you take the best consumable stack, the tool stack I reccomend, and the marathon on a free hunter, and you don't have anything extra from free hunters, you're spending 424. 379 if you downgrade to 2 small regens, 1 small vital. 311 if you go even cheaper and use free guns. With this setup, you'll always be consistently ready. ik that's a lot, hope it helps new players.

@@BombShot Okay I've read it all now :D Im relatively new at the game with 250 hours. I see a few things slightly different, IMO the main-moneysource are the bounties, nomatter which mode or teammodality and from my experience so far, it is way better to arive to the occasion once a fight has broken out already, either be first at a boss, or last - seems super obvious to me, the stam syringe is therefor something i sacrifice instantly if i feel like saving money, because if i really want to win, i rather not rush to much. you have to take initiative agianst one team and one team only if you want to sweat and thats the last one besides yourself. It is excellent for long travels and if you need to melee alot (rush the boss maybe or whatever). I go for a med rifle to max my chances in that fight and aim for low cost utility to be able to loot money from fallen hunters. But still the oneboss mode shrkins your probability of exiting last since it require a serverwipe everytime atm. Im thankfull for a lot of your suggestions, its fun to think about these things. Marathon might be a good idea for instance. (For reference im at ~1,6KD at 5 Star)

What single boss bug? Im playing most of the time medium romero and medium winfield, till i kill one and then grab his weapons. Imo its the cheapest loadout where u get the most ranges. And i take dusters, med kit, chokes, flares, small vit, small stam, small regen and a dynomite. Works perfectly most of the time. And if u die when u had 3 clues and killed the boss u nearly lose nothing. Im on the road to 1mil 🎉😎

Animation canceling. Watch the empty circle of the ammo UI at the bottom. As soon as that circle gets filled, you can swap to your other weapon/some tool or consumable and immediately back, and you'll have reloaded without the rest of the reload animation. Some weapons (like Romero) _noticeably_ profit from this, others (like the bomb lance for example) don't, at all.

I am recently struggling with money in Hunt. I had 220k cash months ago (never prestiged). I am a 3/4* player. After all the changes to the loadout prices and hunters I am now at 100k, and I play only cheap loadouts. The most expensive gun I buy in this game from time to time is Krag. I feel that all the price changes they made target only worse players with less money and the 5* players with hundreds k and millions don't care...
