It really was. Go watch it. The pacing is a bit slower than the 2011.but its definitely worth it. It does some things better than the 2011

It also has an artistic vision, unlike very bland 2011 show.

@@pininja4981 2011 achieves this fast pacing by skipping a bunch of shit from the manga, that leaves Gon without any characterization beyond "naive and good natured boy" up to some point.

Nippon animation is the definition of best old schools day, the way their weight, pace and speed getting registered into the show is just amazing Having chimera ant arc would be a dream come true

Rewatching the series rn and is beautiful as I remember watching it 15 years ago. As a lot of memorable fighting animation are displayed here I like the fact that they put a lot of effort even in characters acting: you can notice even when the elevator lady at 6:18 got these smooth movement in 2 cuts, she'll never appears later in the series, she has these 2 moments and no more, but you sure remember her.

congratulations for the composition of this video, I love the transitions and the idea of putting the genga before the start of the Gon-Hanzo fight is fantastic :)

OG Hunter X Hunter is still beautifully animated than the remake and it shows (Ik there were some memorable moments in the remake but still no one beats the original HxH for its quality sakuga) I wish there's a Blu-ray of this sakuga treated masterpiece.

Some parts maybe but I've seen both and I wouldn't say 1999 has better animation than 2011. Coz 2011 is hands down better in that department with it's consistent good animation. However I will give 1999 did take many creative liberties and effort that gave a better flow to the good parts of their animation.

@@RBM33888 So did 1999 😭, it had bad looking and derpy episodes with stills. Yes the animation/sakuga highlights of 1999 are more impressive than 2011's but let's not pretend like 1999 was like that 100% of the time. 2011's strength lies in how it consistently looks solid so even when there aren't any impressive cuts, it never looks off. Both are great for different reasons and have their own issues.
