I agree tho that it is not the same with Dee Dee working with Hunter! They were a perfect matching team for sure! I think Dee Dee McCall in the series is a perfect example of a humble, at the same time a confident, and believing in herself woman partner

Fred Dryer cut her screen time by 50% in season six when he took over as executive producer. He decided the show should focus more on him and less on the partnership, so she didn't have much to do. She wanted to pursue music and other projects anyway, so she left early with one year remaining on her contract.

The actress in this 2 part episode left mid-way in the season. Darlanne Fluegel had creative differences with Fred Dryer. Wasn't what she wanted in the part of his partner and as a cop.

Alzheimer's disease. On December 15, 2017, Darlanne Fluegel died from the disease at her home in Orlando, Florida. Fluegel's body was cremated and her ashes were given to family members. 5 yrs today. RIP.

I know first hand. My mom developed Alzheimer’s and we took care of her at home. And she passed 23 Dec 00. And yes, I had a brother who said put her in a home and forget about it. Of course 2 years later he’s in a Phoenix hospital with cancer at 53. You can’t make it up..

The seventh and final season of _Hunter_ was hot trash from the start. Season 7, episodes 1 and 2. ("Deadly Encounters" was a 2-part episode but I consider the 2-part episode, "Deadly Encounters" as one full episode). There were two or three episodes that were OK. But overall, season 7 of _Hunter_ was hot trash. They should've ended the show after season 6 when Dee Dee McCall got married and left the LAPD. It is what it is.
