Omg finally somebody gets it! I don’t understand what makes the mounting system so hard to install! It’s literally so easy!!

The hate this mounting system gets is out of control. As long as it is installed correctly with the rubber spacers, there are no issues with it.

Almost all hunter mounts suck and it’s not just about inconvenience. They are overly complicated for no reason and they have like a million different ones. Why on earth is that? Just stick with one! The 90s ones were ugly and could slip off easy, the 2000s ones were annoying or lacking in screws causing rocking. The current ones are the best in awhile but with no notch they wobble easily. Oh and the stupid U-bolt that has dumb hole patterns. In the case of the AVT or as I call it, always very terrible, it sucks, but most of the suckiness comes from something in the fans life, missing grommets or improper assembly really make it far worse. If all conditions are perfect, it is really simple, the first time I put one up, no issue, the rest of the times, something was done wrong and it made it awful. Now over the last 20 years, the level of stupidity in fan installers has increased, so why the heck they made a mounting system that can easily be messed up just makes no sense. It would be great if people had common sense, but as I always say, common sense isn't so common. For me, hunter mounts will always be one of my least favorite things, theres just no reason to have all these different mounts, pick the best one, which in my opinion is like what came on the Highbury I just installed and roll with it. Hunter introduced all these mounts mostly as some stupid gimmick, and as per usual with gimmick products, they aren't any better(I am looking at you Bose) but yeah, the AVT’s are not the worst mount, just stupid and pointless. The best part about them is the lack of wobble but Emersons never wobble on their basic ball socket mounts so yeah. Theres no benefit to these systems versus any other unless you like the appearance. This is why I dislike these systems, it just seems all so pointless.

@@FANtasticFans82 I completely understand where you're coming from. The issue that I have with Hunter is that all the Hunter brackets need some sort of rubber spacers for the canopy to line up right. If any of them are missing, it turns into a complete nightmare trying to get them to work. The bracket you're referring to on your highbury I have had lots of experience with, I feel as if I am always trying to fight to line up the three screws with them. The current Hunter bracket is not so bad, but its probably the ugliest looking mounting system I've ever seen. This can also be said about the 90's canopy. The 90's canopy is not that ugly to me, but I can see where its looks would not hold up well with the designs of today. The AVTs are hit and miss for me, mainly just depends on the parts they have (which 9/10 times they are missing something). The U bolt they should include 2 brackets from the factory, each with different screwhole patters, Hunter needs to stop being cheap. The original is a $400+ fan, the lest they can do is include 2 brackets. The installers choice bracket from 1998-2002 I have had the best experiences with, I primarily install my fans on downrods, which cuts down drastically on the wobble. I can see where flush mounting can become an issue though. They are easy to use, even for a non collector and have a timeless look to them. I just prefer them, they're not perfect, but they're the best out of the bunch in my opinion. In a nutshell Hunter mounting has always been a trainwreck, they really need to go to a simple ball and socket like everyone else, but we know hunter wants to be "different".

I 100% agree, I am surprised the Highbury gives you issues, usually those line up for me.
