Thanks for pointing it out! I really only said brother since in the Viz translation Alluka was referred to as brother and sister. So I knew whatever gender I chose to refer to Alluka as there would be someone upset with it. There have been a few people upset with me, but I have no intention of hurting anyone with my content. I didn't notice anyone in particular constantly calling Alluka a boy or another character only referring to Alluka as a Girl. So I just went with what I thought felt right, despite while recording me constantly saing "she and her". Sorry to anyone who doesn't agree with my choice. I totally am not right on everything, and will accept where I am wrong.

@@DBZimran The reason that it's actually not right in the viz translations, is because they kinda got translated at a time where those weren't acceptable standards, If you directly translate the Japanese material you get the stuff with Alluka likely being a Trans MTF, as well as in japanese she uses the term Atashi to refer to herself as. if you can't read japanese you honestly wouldn't know alot of the information. Alluka specifically wants to acknowledged as a good girl in chapter 330 and uses the super-feminine atashi personal pronoun, which is only ever used by Female characters or Okama/Drag Queen type characters which Alluka defiantly isn't the later. So even if your wrong with it, unless you can read japanese there is no way for you have known without doing extensive research into the subject, which this video isn't supposed to be about Alluka, but the arc as a whole, so It's still a minor gripe, just wanted to inform you better on why certain things are frowned upon in the viz translation.

This arc was the one that solidfy Leorio as my favorite character, because of how human he is on the every man sense. At the same time, the workings of the Zoldiacs family, the goodbye between Killua and Gon, Ging in general. Another great breakdown! You did really well going into and explaining all the different characters and motives in this arc as it can get pretty confusing at time. With the arc specifically, I think togashi did a really good job of progressing the story and the world with the decision to leave Gon behind. Other shonen I’ve watched has a hard time not wearing out the mc to the point where their progression is almost meaningless. Another aspect of this show that really lets its stand above the rest. Currently, I’m on chapter 352 of HxH and I’m looking forward to your next breakdown :)

The thing with Hisoka is that you are right and the fans are right at the same time. He does want to do something sexual with killua. That is definitely true. Also Nanika was a subtle representation of Alluka's other self(gender identity) which has been banished and locked up in a room by her own family similar to the problems many transgender people face ( my best friend suffered too that's why I can relate and its so extreme I ... ) , even killua who loved her soo much tells Alluka to not bring out her other self before others since he thinks that's best for her but Alluka tells him that of he Truely loves her he must accept for who she Truely is (other self too) and protect them both which makes killua to beg for forgiveness and understand her and accept her fully, this shows that even for out more closed loved ones this type of issues are complicated and alientaic(represented beautifully by The horrific spine chilling drawing of Nanika - which represents how transgender people are viewed alinatic and toxic to most common people) but Nanika is kind inspite of being alientaic to common society which questions our morality as humans as society , ultimately this arc shows that those who really care for you may misunderstand you at first but they will understand and accept you

Hyskoa has shown sexual attraction to Gon during the fight in the Heavens Arena Arc and he has checked out both their asses in the Greed Island Arc, so it is plausible at least that his kill comment had a sexual tone. At the very least, Hyskoa is highly gratified by violence, so it may be sex and violence are the same thing to him.

I think its more that violence arouses him the same way sex or physical attraction do for most people. I don't know if Hisoka can feel sexual attraction or not, maybe he can maybe he can't, but I don't think he's ever been shown feeling it. Rather than feeling sexual attraction at those points, the thought of him getting stronger and being a good match to fight and kill in the future causes the same effect of arousal in Hisoka as sexual attraction would to the majority of people and so it is presented in the same way. Different internal causes leading to the same external result. Ya know, maybe.

For the Hisoka and Illumi moment, the word Hisoka uses is "yaru", which can have a lot of meanings. It can verbify nouns (such as google > googling in English), can replace a previously used verb, and can mean to do, to kill, or to have sex with. Japanese is a very context sensitive language, and considering who Hisoka is, its altogether possible to have any or multiple of those meanings.

Gon and Killua, are the strongest and purest friendship between two people. from two different worlds, Gon gave Killua something the chance to figure out who HE was and figure out what he WANTED. Their friendship is stronger than anyone being blood brothers without having to do something to mark it. Alluka/Nanika provided Killua with a bigger challenge for himself to prove. I think he saw things the rest didn't. By the family, Alluka was referred to as a brother while Killua saw a female. I think Nanika was the female persona whereas Alluka may have been a gay male so she felt better as the female wearing dress. Alluka wanted to be accepted and loved whereas the family wouldn't so she created an imaginary figure in the mind only to have a childlike spirit merge with the body and came when Alluka made demands. When someone didn't grant those requests Nanika's spirit decided to eliminate the person and their loved ones. (my opinion.) As with Bleach, I loved the characters minus those bad guys who didn't like them.

Hey! Great video! I just wanted to say that Alluka is a trans girl and therefore a she, and no offense on your part if you didn't know, but it is rather disrespectful. Just for future reference, please refer to Alluka as a she, it comes off as a bit insensitive and rude by referring to a trans person by their unpreferred pronouns. Thanks!

She is. However, the portrayal largely indicates she is transgender and was assigned male at birth. That is why Killua (who respects her as a person) calls her a girl, while the rest of her family (who lacks that respect) refer to her as male.

Thanks for pointing it out! I really only said brother since in the Viz translation Alluka was referred to as brother and sister. So I knew whatever gender I chose to refer to Alluka as there would be someone upset with it. There have been a few people upset with me, but I have no intention of hurting anyone with my content. I didn't notice anyone in particular constantly calling Alluka a boy or another character only referring to Alluka as a Girl. So I just went with what I thought felt right, despite while recording me constantly saing "she and her". Sorry to anyone who doesn't agree with my choice. I totally am not right on everything, and will accept where I am wrong.
