I believe Pitou was crying because the king said "I am counting on you.". They live for the King's approval. That in combination of like you guys said, the King's nen giving off that malice and then getting there to see him taking care of another piece of life.

my impression of why Pitou instinctively started crying is because she loves and worships the king to such an extent that when he gave her the direct order to ''heal Komugi'', who's so far been the only individual the king has cared about.. it overwhelmed her with emotion.. probably a mix of awe at being given such an important task, and humility in regards to the gravitas of the task

Well there’s also the aspect that the king added “I’m counting on you” that phrasing almost changes it to a request or a beg. He NEEDS her to do this and the fact that he would say it like that would hit pitou hard.

The King held in his arm an injured commoner girl, while one of his royal guard and two of his assailant petrified on their spot, mesmerized of what they are currently witnessing, a scene that they have never even expected nor imagined, a sight that instigate emotions they didn't thought they would even feel at that moment, and in that instant they already knew, the outcome of their meeting are going to be beyond of what they hoped to reach. That scene alone is enough for every viewers to know, tell, and feel the intensity of the situation.

It's still weird that Killua even figured that out to be honest. He didn't even understand what Nen was during Heavens Arena until Wing explained it to them because his family never taught him. He hasn't seen his grandfather once since he left the mountain with the group after they went to get him back. If he ever learned about Dragon Dive beforehand, it would've been as a nenless child with no frame of reference at all for what it does or what it looks like.

Magical beasts are special creatures for eg those fox like creatures who took gon and his friends to hunter exam site. Also pitou was crying because the king said I am counting on you. That meant that king was trusting pitou with something. Pitou was getting king's indirect approval here which the royal guard always seek.

It is this kind of episode that raises the level of animation to that of a masterpiece and not a painter who shits on a canvas. All the emotion of Pitou in front of the king who asks him for help and not we order him, this scene always makes me shed a tear or two (even after having the series thirty times). This whole episode is made with a master's hand.

1) You’re right about this episode not covering much time. We’ve really only seen like 5 seconds in the stairwell, but the scenes with Netero and King have pulled ahead. It’s probably been a minute or two for them. 2) In regards to death and God’s Accomplice, they don’t know how GA would be affected by instant death, because nen is unpredictable. But they realized for the first time that they hadn’t considered how it would react, so for if it does work that way, they’d have no way of knowing until it was too late, so they had to assume the worst case scenario. 3) The Chimera Ants are like other hive insects, where they have one female Queen that produces a large number of children that are basically all one gender, in this case male (that’s an oversimplification, but it doesn’t really matter for this point). That’s why Pitou is usually referred to as ‘he’ in the show even though they’re feminine presenting. Idk if that’s something people were giving you shit about, but they shouldn’t have been because it can realistically go either way. 4) Pitou crying always seemed to me like it had more to do with Meruem saying he’s counting on them than most of the stuff you were saying. It was partially related to seeing the King in distress, but that’s not the most important part. That was just the first nice thing that Meruem had ever said to them, and since the Royal Guard was born to serve the King and hes been really shitty about it this whole time, having that service be recognized for the first time is what drive Pitou to tears.

you get the timer from the falling dragon dive arrows ... they are falling for 3s (dragon breaks up when Morel reaches 3 on the countdown --> the arrows move about 30m/s)... that's why I think the narrator is such a good choice (it's even used in the manga) the action is happening so fast, there's no time for dialog, even internal one ... so the narrator has to tell us stuff the characters realise in split seconds but don't have time to say or think them

there are no subtitles for this, so the reactors normally don't notice, but the king's aura, between 16:17 and 16:24, is slowly taking the form of the kanji 死 (shi) that translates "death". Death passed by them, without Netero and Zeno noticing it.

N the King was upgraded to my fave character all anime by the end if this arc but this n episode 108 n some upcoming ones really just kept pushing the needle. it's so interesting to see that each royal guard represents a core human caracteristic and the more the arc develop the more these guards will develop too and will become characterized by that emotion. Pitou is empathy and care Youpi is honor and respect And finally Pouf is my favourite because he represents negative characteristics of humanity like egoism, selfishness and madness
