When hens bust be and start alert putting, I like to put back, get aggressive, fighting purs and use her putting to make a ruckus as if there are several hens chassing each other around. Ive struck up toms and waited on them to come in and killed them that way. Js.

I know the chokes and ammo available nowadays have added a ton of effective range to a bunch of turkey guns, but personally I just like to feel like I duped them, so 30 and in for me. Too each their own🤙

@@_Hunters-journey_ yeah I use an old 835 ultimag. 3.5 longbeard xr #5. I wouldn't shoot that far if I wasn't confident. That wasn't a woods shot. I had to make a crawl on this bird. Henned up. It was tough with no cover.

I misjudged a field bird this year. He ran like hell. Looked 30 was 48 yards. Never again.

Me personally most of the time the way I’ll judge a field bird is if I have good clear view of his beard and I see his head really good in general if I can make him out without a doubt I’m shooting man I’m pulling the trigger but also on hunting field birds I’ll get my pattern as perfect as I possibly can on my gun dead center on the fire make my core hit dead on the waddles then I’ll raise my readdot almost meaning the core of my latter to right but not almost to the top of his head but also that’s why I love my over bored 12 gauge 935 mossberg that the best turkey gun ever for me personally I mean I killed one really nice gobbler this year and he was really good ways away but I didn’t think twice about pulling the trigger

He looked killable/ in range…bring a range finder with you. I always hunt with one nowadays for those situations
