The Tadcaster Brewery could refer to the Samuel Smith's brewery. Founded in 1758 it's allegedly Yorkshire's oldest brewery and predates the neighbouring John Smith's brewery by 94 years Although brewing of beer is supposed to have been taking place in Tadcaster since 1340 Very colourful and enjoyable explore with lots of potential to be Killed By Death (very kind of the sulphuric acid pools to highlight themselves in red) Thanks guys 👍

Thanks, we believe it to be that one too. Yes, scary place that we are going back to again. Only recently found out about the red pools myself when watching another person's explore then confirming it.

Hi lads, enjoyed this 2 parter very much! Peter takes the lead very well in explores nothing phases him but he does know his limitations as do you. Enjoyable for us viewers though i think an endurance for you with the oxy levels being low. Glad you got to say goodbye to Bob! 😂❤😊👍

Thanks Carol, yes, had a headache for about 5 hours after that. It won’t be the last time we see Bob as a few large sections still to do :)

Another amazing explore. What I find noteworthy is the lack of any litter or detritus left behind by the miners. Hardly any is ever found. Nowadays (above ground) it’s literally everywhere you look. I’m not thinking McDonalds cartons obviously but bottles they drank from, cutlery or clothing, candle holders, mugs, things they dropped, coins, clay pipes or whatever. Do you know why?
@UKAbandonedMineExplores5 ай бұрын
@@jfro5867 likely because a lot of that has found its way to museums already. You still find a lot, we just don’t show it.

@@UKAbandonedMineExplores ah ok. Must have watched 30-40 or more of your videos and they always look so pristine, dangerous as hell but unspoiled by human yobs.

Good morning and was so pleased you said goodbye to Bob on the way out. Well seeing that tower brewery bottle stopper just made me smile thinking that's from my neighbouring village and the brewery is still going although recently there was a fire there so not sure if it's reopened yet.

@@anthonyhoult152 Thanks Anthony, I did look up the history that and saw still going, nice change to see. Did find that the lantern parts pre-date 1908 when the mine was electrified. More to come from this one :)

@@UKAbandonedMineExplores Yes I gather that the lamps would of been paraffin?
@UKAbandonedMineExplores5 ай бұрын
Not sure, they say oil on any articles I've found. Can't find any that large in the inter webs.
@anthonyhoult1525 ай бұрын
@@UKAbandonedMineExplores That to me would mean paraffin as sometimes the old paraffin lamps or heaters would be called "oil lamp or oil heater"

If the oxygen levels are low going through, will they not be even lower if you return through the same section? Do you have to bear that in mind when exploring? Great explore, if somewhat nerve-wracking!
@UKAbandonedMineExplores5 ай бұрын
That is indeed the case, although much more of an issue in the drifts of the lead mines as they are a much smaller volume. Glad you enjoyed :)

Of course we did thanks, it's standard procedure, even if we are doing a surface explore.
