Thanks Jerry for coming to Zim, it is indeed a magical place. Hope you come visit again sometime! Its a great pity that there is so much negative press on Zimbabwe, it's certainly a lot safer than most of the capital cities in the west!

Ian Gibson was my PH on my first trip to Zimbabwe. When I was there he had a 458 Winchester that I would dearly love to have. Gareth is incredibly lucky to be the caretaker of that rifle. Ian was one of a kind.

Fantastic buf! I wonder why videos like this never show the shot placements. In the old show American Sportsman the always showed the shot. It helped you learn and also appreciate the animals' responses and durability.

Thanks again for the comment Sam! We will definitely be producing more informative shot placement oriented episodes on a new show we're releasing on the channel later this year! Standby... A. Jack

@@AfricanJackTV As we say around here, "cool beans" which means "great". If with each animal the shot location was pointed out (enterance/exit) we viewers could then appreciate why the animal responded the way it did in that particular situation, ie. dropped immediately, ran a few steps and dropped, headed for the hills, adrenaline rushed etc, And then the desired spot could be shown, also considering the animal's position- broadside, 1/4 away, face on, uphill, shooting downward, etc. Thanks. As hunters that is crucial information. Says a lot about the animal, too.

Hi Myla. Trophy and meat hunting. Did you mean species? A. Jack
@myladcook4779 Жыл бұрын
@@AfricanJackTV No I mean why are you killing the animals? If it's for food it should be for the Africans that's there animals.
@myladcook4779 Жыл бұрын
Is Africa your home or are you from Europe?
@AfricanJackTV Жыл бұрын
It's an important balance Myla. The hunter will hunt an old ram/bull (trophy) and the meat will then be distributed between the locals (camp kitchen will also get a portion). By doing this it slows (not stops) poaching of animals (poachers will shoot anything irrespective of age/gender).Wildlife populations suffer and decrease as a result.
