Nice vid mate! Reminded me of my 26 years living in Darwin from the late 70's, and hunting pigs and buffs near Howard Swamp, Noogoo Swamp ( Shoal Bay ) and Finnis River Station. Ruger M77 heavy barrel in 338 Win Mag with Leupold 3x9 scope was my weapon of choice. Hundreds of grunters and buffs fell to this combo! 😃

Loved this one. One million acres is 1562.5 square miles of land. That is really something! Glad to get this video from ya. I really like the buffalo hunting vids and at one point in my younger days, I was seriously considering coming down there to hunt them with one of the big outfitters that lots of Americans were hunting with back then and either writing about or making videos on. At that time, if I am recalling correctly, there was no limit on feral animals like goats, pigs and donkeys etc. too, so that made a trip like that even more appealing.

Nathan, I"ve got to say a huge thank you. I had no idea how much crap you had to lug around for your fliming, I noticed in one of the shots that one of the other guys took of you, you're wearing a vest and the number of different items you had stuffed in pockets or hanging off hooks just so you have the right gear to film you're adventures to present to us the viewer. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It would be hard to carry that around when you're in the Hunter valley but to do it in 40 degree heat mate there's only one word to cover it and that's LEGEND!! I love your videos and the explainations of the gear you use too. Very entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work Champion. Cheers

Bloody awesome video Nathan. I only relatively recently found your channel and after binge watching almost all your vids, I have been eagerly awaiting some new content and certainly was not disappointed! The scenery you captured brought back a lot of cool memories of when I had a 6 week visit to the territory back in 1994 (started with watching the Aussie cannonball run) and driving down tracks and through creek crossings and anywhere I could get to in my little old green LJ Torana! I remember barrelling down the Kakadu highway late one evening doing 'the tonne' (100mph) when suddenly at the very limit of my high beam illumination I saw what looked like a fallen tree spanning the entirety of the 2 lanes that lay in front of me. I hit the picks with all my might, luckily bringing the car to a halt just metres before the obstacle. At this point I realised it was not any form of fallen vegetation, but was a black headed python warming its RRRR's on the blacktop! To this day its the biggest 'no shoulders' I have ever seen outside of a Zoo (like yourself). Anyhow, that Raptor you were following with your drone was a Whistling Kite. In the last few frames of drone footage you can see the slightly rounded end of tail and the deep 'fingers' at the end of the wings, both tell tail traits of the WK. All the best mate, keep up the good work.
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK11 күн бұрын

G'day Nathan, yes The Territory is, an awesome place. My Paternal Grandfather is buried in the McMillan road cemetery and my late brother lived there for about five years in the first half of the 1980's. Having visited as often as I could and also read a bit about some of the exploits attributed to legendary Territorian Horsemen, Buffalo shooters and bushmen like Paddy Cahill as well as lesser mortals like Tom Cole I learned a thing or two. Possibly more Buffalo are said to have been shot with the humble .303 than any other caliber both from horseback and on foot and up until after world one the predominant rifle was the humble single-shot, falling block martini Henry! Apparently the method employed for shooting Buffalo on foot 'back in the day' was to wait until the animal would lift it's snout to that characteristic almost horizontal posture I have personally observed numerous times then shoot the tip of the nose. Evidently this provides a projectile with the path of least resistance to the brain and a well placed shot is virtually guaranteed to be instantly lethal which, as you can no doubt now appreciate, is essential if your only form of escape is 'shanks pony'. Thanks for refreshing some old memories by providing some new ones!
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK12 күн бұрын
FMJ ammo is also a factor of what was used by those old rifles. Works very well on the buff and head shots.
