This has always been a common theme in the company's history of computers. Aesthetics over function.

Man these macs have some miles on them! The first mac that i personally owned way back in 1994 and beyond, i wrote a lot of text on this thing, i became a writer for the school's journal, i wrote columns, funny stories i encountered, sadly, the connor hard drive in my Classic went bad and i moved over to a laptop, a pentium 2, because windows is more wide spread than macintosh, especially in those days, apple was struggling before Jobs came back, he did that AGAIN with the Rev C iMac G3, he eliminated the fan from that system as well, and guess what? All those macs failed or are in the process of failing, my G3 iMac is clicking (flyback) so it is on its last legs. Ashame really, i like that form factor.

The same problem applies to other products that Jobs had a hand in designing the case for. Note that he was not an engineer of any sort, but he was obsessed with having no fans and poor airflow. Going all the way back to the original Apple ][... Somebody had to talk him into adding air slits. The Apple /// is notorious for cooking itself, making working units very rare in collections. The Lisa suffers the exact same problems as the ///. The original NeXT Computer (pizza box, not cube) famously gets hot. etc. etc.

This is useful. I’m looking to add a fan to my plus which gets hot and is exhibiting signs of failure. Hopefully removing the heat will resolve the issues without the need for a recap.

6:44 Well of course they come with USB C, it's a European law that anything rechargeable at that size MUST connect via USB C.

Interesting. I didn't realize that. I still occasionally find something new that still uses micro USB. Glad that it will eventually go away.

@@RetroHackShack It is only a law in the EU, so if something is made that isn't designed for sale in Europa, it can still have a USB Micro B connector on it. But that also means that Apple putting Lighting connectors on their iPhone to sell in Europe is breaking EU Law, because it's not USB C.

That's an interesting bit of kit. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Nice Ive wanted one of these for years but these devices are still out of my price range. Cannot justify $500 as a hobbyist. Maybe if I had a repair shop but thats not gonna happen.

Why can't you mark this Video as a Advertisement for this Camera?
@_Thrackerzod6 ай бұрын
Yeah, almost the entire video was just a camera review. Hardly anything about the Mac issue it was supposed to be about, kind of disappointing.

Came here to learn about the Mac analog power board and instead got a long infomercial for a CCP camera manufacturer.
