How would this work with a PS2 KVM? I tried a different adapter and while it worked the keyboard, no dice on the mouse.

Getting that second 5-1/4 DD was a game changer. Remember how we had to wait for everything? Wait for it to boot. Wait for it to load. Wait for the dial-up connection. Wait 'til bedtime to download a file because it's going to take all night. . .

Hi! I wound up here when searching for the best method of converting the signal from my 2022 Macbook Pro to display on my new Apple II GS. Does this support signal for that monitor? Thank you so much for sharing your process and tools with us enthusiasts!

No. But you might be able to find an HDMI to AV converter that would work.

I don’t think that letter is saying “you should use this TV”. It seems to just be answering the question “how do I use this TV?” So it’s a fair example of what someone would have used, but not necessarily a recommendation or even necessarily a common choice (though I bet it was).

Man I'm sorry to hear you went through that with the seller. I just picked up a mint NOS pair of these speakers and they came in today from the UK. Unfortunately the DC power brick is UK standard so I have to find a alternative power supply to get mine working. So excited!

Cool little gadget - with vintage keyboards often being quite expensive (even when broken), I could see many wanting this.

A lot of game companies could learn a lot from these old school prgrammers. These people couldn't be lazy about optimization. It wasn't optional, IT WAS NECCESARY! Also, no gimmicks, no relying on marketing. Didn't need 16Gig and DLSS to make gaming fun! K.I.S.S. (OK, later on MArketing kind of had a hand. Which ironically is when things startred going bad. Go figure. When to take game-makers out of game-making, and leave it to the bean counters, it's inevitabel that in the end these companies just design quasi-poker machines with high FPS)

Three hits with a fire ring kills the fake Wizard every time. Hit two with the Fire ring and one with the Ice ring. Also...before you kill the fake Wizard....you should climb up the ladder back to the second level.. You'll face 4th level creatures if you go up. Kill all of them...go up to first...kill all of those creatures, then head back down....killing creatures all along the way. You'll be super strong by the time you re-do 3rd level. You can even take a hit from the fake Wizard. The Wraith is the Face. A wraith is a ghost spirit thing. The Galdrog is the bat winged beaked thing.

I stop watching because of the $h|++y editing. Write a script and learn to speak in one take. Adrian's digital basement addressed one of the biggest reto keyboard problems, proprietary jacks. If that works with Tandy keyboard DIN jacks, it would be great. The most difficult and needed would be Commodore SX-64 connections.

Great video, thank you for covering this, I will definitely be building or buying one of these soon. Perfect for the workbench. Something I thought I would mention as I am also a fan of old school keyboards is the Ajazz AK510 keyboard. A few years ago I found the perfect solution for a retro keyboard that I use for work i.e., as well as my memory can attest to what it was like using those old IBM and clone mechanical keyboards. It scratched my itch to say the least. Two things, first the switches I selected (Brown) are very loud, like your ban to the garage I have to mute on conference calls, or pick a different keyboard in peer-to-peer settings. The second is that it was a bit expensive, but for me worth the price as the perfect blend between old look&feel and new features for my taste. It appears they may not sell it, or only by request now, but someone with our keyboard tastes can't go wrong with an AK510 using Brown switches.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose, tho? I can understand it as a technical challenge, but isn't the idea of vintage computers is to preserve the technology of that time?

The issue is: all HID devices break sooner or later. So even if you are a purist wanting to preserve a system in it's original state, you might want to use different devices for everyday use. You really don't want to wear out your precious original IBM keyboard playing rogue or something.

Not just a need for Classic Macs but a plethora of other systems with extremely rare external keyboards at this point. The Coleco ADAM, the Atari XE Game System, the Intellivision II ECS, the Apple IIGS, the Nintendo Famicom, the Commodore 128D, the Atari Mega ST/STE/TT, the Amiga 2000/2500/3000… not to say there aren’t already existing proprietary solutions for some - if not all - of them…
