Y’all need to go to a butcher shop and ask for scraps, that’s what I’ve always done. Also, use to work at one and had people ask all the time. They get dumped anyway and if they make you pay it won’t be much. I know it won’t be much. Like this so these guys save their money.

Those were definitely red tailed hawks. My uncle used to use them for squirrel hunting. For baiting a coyote at this time of year you can try turkey. Use a cheap decoy and an e-call and play some distressed turkey noises as well as put out some kind of meat. Or you could just pop a rabbit, make it nice and smelly and put a decoy and an e-call on it and you should have him come in.

Here you can get 10 pounds of chicken quarters for $5 at wally world. Skin the chicken, clean out the guts that is left near spine and trim fat off. Use chicken skin, guts and fat for bait. BBQ chicken meat for yourself. Save any bones after eating for coyote bait also. They and other animals gnaw on dead cow carcasses for the calcium.
@MrRatkilr
@MrRatkilr 5 жыл бұрын
If you bait. small pieces are better than one big chunk. First one there takes it all. Break it up in smaller pieces and spread it around and smear on logs or ground around the area. They got great sniffers. Make em work for the bait.

Flair all I could imagine you would have to do is put the bait out later in the day so the hawks, vultures, etc. won’t find them as easily. As it turns later in the day the aerial predators move back to the trees to find an ample roosting spot where as your coyote friends are just getting moving.

Learned from TX biologist on predators that coyotes do not kill calves or cows. Only limited documented cases, but that the black head vultures do account for bovine loss. They will land on cows calving and pluck the eyes out thus killed cow and calf. The vultures are a USFG protected migratory bird that has a limited number of permits for cull.

Went to walmart, boom, almost three pounds of expired buns, manager talked to me, made sure i didnt intend on eating it and happily let me take it off his hands. Go to your local butcher, get a couple buckets of meat scraps,plenty of blood!put them in a gallon bucket or 5 gallon bucket, freeze over night and set out the next day. Meat icicles. Coyotes love them. Plus birds can't drag them away!

Those were red tail hawks and they have been known to pick up 30-40 pound pets from people’s backyards. That slab of meat stood no chance, they are also in mating season and if the female is sitting on the nest the male will bring food back to her.

Most of the early clips likely red tail hawks, and turkey vultures in other frames. But some shots after could be young bald eagles that have not developed enough for the "Bald/White" heads and tails. On the wisonsin river near the dells you will often see very large juvenile bald eagles that have not developed the white head and tail.

A lot of times you can go to butchers and ask if they have and old meet or get a dead deer of the side of the road and cut some of the meat off of it, what would be best is to cut one of the back legs offs. Remember to wear rubber gloves to do there is no scent. Make sure it’s only been dead for no more than 3 days., leave some fur on the meat and the sent is what attracts and when you set it out put some leaves over it. This really works try it. I don’t know where you live but some states your allowed to hunt over bait to.
