We were thrifting for knives on the same day and see that you found some good ones. Up here in Michigan I picked up a western L66 fixed blade with sheath and a case fish knife (yellow Derlin) $45 both pretty good deal. Love your knife channel and have been watching it since the beginning. Keep saving lives of ole knives👍🇺🇸.

Pleased to say I made my first pocket knife purchase today !😊🎉 don’t judge but it’s a rough rider tobacco trapper. I know it’s china made but it’s all I can afford I don’t get much money, hoping to get a case trapper one day as they are the best you can get in my eyes. that knife you got for $1.50 at the antique store had a logo on it that said "GT Distributors Inc." there is a Gt Distributors not 10 minutes from me, it's a gun store, mainly catering to law enforcement, but great place to get good deals on used department trade ins as well as new guns as well. I've shopped there a lot over the years. I believe their home office/store is in Texas.

I have been to that hardware store in Macon. They used to have another store in downtown Macon. They had alot of Case knives then. I think that was around 2008. Nice knife hunting trip. Did you get some beef jerky at Buckee's?

Doc, did you know only about 50% of benchmades knives use USA steel and other materials? They even admit that a lot of their knives are just assembled here. And they still charge those insane prices because of the name on it.

50 percent. Are sure about that? Crucible is used in 90 percent. You have a few in m390 which is bohler. But they really build in it anymore. They used to use ats 34 late 90's early 2000's. Which They went away from for the reason it was USA steel. They use S30V, cruwear, 20cv, m4, and magnacut. A few rwl-34 Damascus steel. At for the g10 and other material is from other places.

I’m really not crazy about benchmade folders. I do like there fixed blades though. It does say USA on there and by law they have to be made in the USA. Or they can say built in the USA. My favorite modern folders are USA SPYDERCO’s and Buck.

Cold steel is the king of china knives. Doing it overseas before everyone was doing it. The factory edge is garbage but once you put a real edge on them, they are better than benchmade. Benchmade you pay for the labor to get a better factory edge and for everyones lifetime warranty
