Still waiting for the Morels to start popping here in central Pennsylvania but the weather has been up and down a lot. Crappies are biting pretty good though. 👍👍

We went out crappie fishing yesterday, caught 8 nice slabs. Hoping to get some more this week!

@@tag_caver ya I just checked mine I guess they aren't gonna come up or they never took. I know last year I went and checked and noticed turkeys had scratched up the whole place. So I guess they ruined my spot.
@tag_caver Жыл бұрын
@@wildfire365 I would say keep checking. I've got two other spots that haven't flushed yet!! As time nears, I start checking my spots every three days. Don't give up just yet!

Nice haul, so much earlier than us up north. Our peak season coincides with the redbud trees blooming, is it the same in TAG? Hey, thanks for sharing!
@tag_caver Жыл бұрын
We usually say when the Dogwoods are blooming, which is typically late March or early February.

@@tag_caver Gives me a idea that we will be early too, we change the saying to "April showers bring April mushrooms"
@tracy2762 Жыл бұрын
how is the season now? do you head higher up in beginning april?
@tag_caver Жыл бұрын
I live next to the Cumberland Plateau. We find them in the valleys first. Starting finding them the first week of March, which was warmer this year. Typically find middle to late March. They will come up on the mountains about a month after the valley.

Did the cold hurt them? I think they will be ok heard of people pick morels after a dusting of snow. Like putting them in the fridge. Nice video happy hunting

My husband says the same thing, it's like putting them in the fridge, LOL. I am going back in a few days to check again for more. Thank you.

Why would you use a screen shot of an old dried up morel for your video? That morel is past edible!
