Hey btw for your ammo problems: you can swap multiple weapons from 5.45 to 5.56 with upgrades. When you pick up the gun, check the upgrade paths if it's available, usually it's the lowest one at the advanced toolkit tier for ARs. Your RD for instance can be swapped to 5.56 - I'm using one in my UNISG playthrough as well :) Good luck pulling through your RL stuff, I'm also going through a lot, eager for life to gimme a break haha but thanks for the vids in the meantime!

If your gonna use a AKM like that youre best off using a SKS Tactical if you have one accuracy is way better and you have many scopes you can use and if you really need some firepower you can upgrade it to 7N1 which is cheap and whacks just about everything.

I recommend to turn on the mod for "enemies can't see through bushes" or whatever it was called. Should be in your mod organizer, just enable it. It has some minor issues, but works pretty well for the most parts. I personally can't stand the fact that the AI can shoot me with no problem with 0 visibility thought those bushes, completely immersion braking for me. Also, there is a mod to craft the expert tools. I used it myself after looting 4 green (yellow now) stashes in Pripyat and outskirts, and not getting one (thats quite the fraking grind, and I got pretty mad). I crafted the tools, and then removed the mod for it. So I agree, Grok really should make the expert tools craftable with 4 advanced tools, or at least give a certain difficult mission in the north that will grand you those tools. The RNG is getting old real quick after you miss that 50% change 4 times in a row.

The problem with stashes and expert tools is the north seems really bad with quests. The south is always a lot and diverse quests but the second you get past red forest the quests just fall off and are not fun anymore. If we could get some more quests and better quest variety in the north I think it would help a lot.

I know it's a bit out of the way for UNISG but Butcher in Garbage sells 5.45 HP 150 rounds for super cheap. That's where I've been able to get cheap ammunition parts.

I always say that with every update Grok makes this less fun to play nerfing everything. Good Aslan lottery nerfed with 0.9, then getting tools nerfed and then upgrading with mechanic disabled. It really is getting more of a annoying grind fest.

I really hope you see this comment for the sake of your run, I found my expert tools in a white stash in Jupiter. Expert tools are a seperate table then advanced and basic tools. EXPERT TOOLS ARE POSSIBLE IN WHITE STASHES IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORIES. Hope this helps and resparks your motivation to finish this run through before moving on as I know Im not the only one enjoying it! We understand take some time off if its what you need. for the next playthrough you should try the magazines mod. gives a new perspective to gunfights in this game when you can't stack good assault rifles and snipers & need to carefully plan if your magazines are enough for a gunfight.

IDK who told you 50 patches, but yeah no 20 is the max and they nerfed Aslan terribly a few major patches ago, now they are only worth turning in for quests. Glad to see you made another video though I was beginning to wonder if you moved over to twitch or something, but at least works picking up for you, more money! Also @30:00 is where I always wanted to base as a sniper TBH just never do but now that you can now mantle things, you can climb the stairs at the bottom of the building and skip doing the anomaly every time you wanna walk to your base. EDIT: Also if you don't have it set up turning on auto save every 5 minutes and limit it to 1 autosave instead of 5 so you don't have so many save files might make life a bit easier.

I don't understand about Aslan's patch rewards. In Anomaly or vanilla it is usually 20 or 50 patches. 50 gets you high end rewards like suits, weapons or mid tier artifacts. I think it is just Gamma that is at fault here. Edit: or maybe you have to be a Merc to get the full reward.

Old video at this point, but on wether or not stashes are too rare or not. I really think its more-so a UNISG thing than stashes being too hard to find. While playing as Loner you can get so many fckn missions from so many people that it honestly feels pretty good. The issue is when your playing a faction with less allies IE less quests IE less stash drops. On my last loner playthrough I had constantly a dozen or two stashes marked on the map cuz of both rostok AND freedomer's base being open questing for me. Idk if this is possible with the modding but it'd be really nice if the harder factions with less allies got better stash drops. We kinda see this with the UNISG random stash drops, that's probably why they are there. To get you more stashes cuz quests are so rare. If those gave you better loot, or there were less white stashes when playing as UNISG or Monolith (and factions like it) I think that'd fix the issue. Being able to come back to rostok after a day and complete **5-6 missions** just from fetch quests is insane. I realllly think you were mainly screwed over by not having that many allies as UNISG.

the expert tools chance is fine, shoult honestly be lowered. I think you're struggling because you're playing as UNISG. Less relations, less missions, less stashes from rewards

Regarding tools and the RNG grind, there's no doubt it's a difficult balance but I think it would be interesting to see how it plays if Expert Tools spawn chance increased a fair bit if you've disabled the Brain Scorcher and same for Advanced Tools but for the Miracle Machine. Without completing either it could be how it is now (or maybe slightly reduced) so there's still a chance to get them without doing those missions. Of course its not perfect as not every faction has the same quest line etc. But perhaps it could be an option for Factions that do have these missions available. I basically had the opposite experience to you right now, but came out feeling a similar way. Which because its all RNG is not surprising. I got a green stash in Red Forest right after turning off MM, was still pretty early - and it had Expert Tools. I know I got super lucky, but in a way it would have been better if it was Advanced as it would have felt smoother for the progression I think. It felt like I bypassed the midgame as once you know what pays well making money is not hard. In my example above I wouldn't have Expert Tools spawning anywhere other than Pripyat and Outskirts unless you've turned off BS, in which case you have say a 50% chance in any Green stash north of AW. Just an example.

The north has very few quest givers to begin with and UNISG with few allies doesn't help. For me the Expert tools are usually in the 3ed or 4th stash, but getting that many coordinates os a task in itself. At this point I'm almost expecting a Monty Python joke at the end. You're just about to loot THE stash, then police shows up and arrests you, because of some random TK hours ago

I don't like upgrading to the 2.0 for the Monolith AK12. I prefer the 1.0 version. Grenade launcher is cool, yes, but I find myself just never using it.

40:48 IMHO, running quests on Dead City (mercs), Army Wharehouses (freeds) and jupter (freeds, loons and ecos) would be a much more effective and entertainment way to get your hands on an expert toolset. The spawn chance in these areas is smaller, yes, but you will compensate it with quantity of tries. And dont forget the fuckton of money and loot you will get in the process... Don't make the acquisition of an expert toolset your main objective, it will only make you frustrated. Look at it as something you will naturaly get while having fun playing the game content. Nonetheless, once you know the game mechanics, like, pretty damn well, having an expert toolset won't be a must anymore. All you really need is the advanced one. You dont need the expert toolset to be able to have a decent enough weapon or armor. You just need to know where to look for, and pray a bit for rngesus. AKs and ARs are excelent intermediate level weapons, which can carry you through the entire game without any problem. Normal exosuits (non powered ones), complimented with the right attachments and upgrades are excelent for defense, if you have luck, you can also get the Merc Ace suit, which would be the "end game" armor in a "non expert toolset" scenario.

Is there a patch on the status of enemies when you kill them? Normally the patch icon turn black immediately when you kill them. Also, kriss with .45 fmj still shreds stalkers. Bring atleast 100 rounds for backup. Also, one time. I found expert tools in red forest 😂

Beard Tea is king of drinks. You could have just wipe out Loner's off the Svadosk base...cause there are Monolith spawns nearby; you can use them to mess around the base and then complete the cleaning. You don't to parkour the Vine anomaly anymore, right next to the hole in the ground there's the crack in the wall the usually you can use to exit the building......but you can mantle ....dont use it as hideout because snorks and Chimera's there can aggro from miles aways and can climb the building from the outside; Hunting Squads just literally spawn inside ...and is not sheltered.

About the xpert toolkits nd difficulty in general, I never understood the mentality of hopping onto something notoriously difficult and then complain about the difficulty level. Youre playing as a unisg member. This is supposed to make the game harder by the seclusion of the faction. Which in turn makes the path to getting expert toolkits longer. Thats partially what you chose for by playing as unisg. You asked for difficulty, you got it. Why complain now?

Freedom base is a good place to get expert stashes. Borders Red Forest (small chance) and Jupiter (I believe also has a chance, not sure) The chance is small but the volume of stashes you get is much larger, since you have a decent amount of NPCs in a small area You're probably better off doing what you're doing right now, but doing lots of freedom quests early game means you get your expert tools long before you need them

You won't believe this and honestly with your luck I wouldn't blame you, but in my run my first green stash north of AW was in Red Forest and yep it had Expert tools. Mutants cant path where there is water in Great Swamps even when unfrozen.

Just to know , this is the grok answer to the aslan loterie loot: "The stronger the faction, the better the loot. I has *some* guns, like a P90, a MP7 and a special Desert Eagle. Aslan lottery is mainly good to get tons of artefacts to kick start your artefact farming gear at the moment. It also gives super good supplies like AP rounds, healing items, rare crafting material, etc." So well if your lucky it s still worth it i think

On one hand you wanna get pushed to go north and do risky tasks/missions to have better chances but on the other hand hitting a streak of bad luck with the rewards can be really demotivating. I dunno what craftable expert tools would do to players, maybe it would lead to even more grind in easy zones to do the craft. Maybe Grok could implement some simple telemetry to gather data when/how ppl find their expert tools and implement some kinda failsafe for bad RNG.

You can stack up on quests with your companions/people you are "guiding" and return the quests to them in Outskirts - this way they'll spawn stashes in Outskirts/Pripyat. I found it to be the most consistent way to get expert tools

I know it's against the spirit of the game, but I personally wouldn't fault you if trashed your four advanced tools and commanded in expert tools as a trade. It's a game and it's supposed to be fun! I know we'd all gladly watch you farm them out but I can feel the whole grind being tedious thing. That way you don't feel bad about the series stalling out while you deal with other stuff in real life. I'm rooting for you pal!

I would like to see the Great Swamps or Zaton in the snow mod. Perhaps one of these weekends or however it fits in your schedule you can do a renegades or clear sky stream. You could also try to drive the car in Darkscape, give that a try. Might be easier than trying to get content in this UNISG playthrough over the holiday at least.

You probably know this but you can put your vector in your pistol or knife slot, have your AK for close to medium range and your SKS for long range.

Expert tools are fine as they are now You dont even need them to "finish" the game as there are more than plenty of weapons and armor to do all of the content with advanced tools Expert tools are more of quality of life upgrade unless you are hard on artifacts as you want that last detector to make artifact crafting less of a hassle Also you keep taking rads like crazy might want to upgrade your armor with rad resistance, in my current run i got Monolith Skat armor with Sphere M12 and i dont have any issues with rads and i walk in psystorms like its nothing (i can upgrade my psy resistance even more and im not even monolith start)

Hey, remember to clear shaders cache after connecting and disconnecting Graupel textures (because they use a shader), only after clearing the shader cache can you use regular winter textures. Or the textures will not display correctly..

Anomalous Study tasks sounds easy... but then sometimes it refuses to find the right spot. And sometimes it works with completely different anomaly, from the other side of the game map in different location. Not to mention sitting in dangerous anomaly - without good equipement - melts your suit and health faster than you can upload the data.

In ZCP settings you can turn up the stash spawn rate. You can also turn up the gun spawn rate and have a higher range of gun durability spawns so no more completely broken guns on guys who were just spraying you down a second ago

I cant relate to the tool problem tbh, as i found all the tools in my last 3 runs pretty fast but i understand the struggle. An cool idea would be to make the procentage larger for the tools you dont have, every time you open a golden stash and it contains tools you already have. Ofc there would have to be good balancing, so you f.e. never have a 100% chance to find a specific toolset. Love ur vids ! (sorry for possible bad english)

25:00 Hahahaha... Maaaaannnn... you picked up a hornet nest. The cream de la cream of the monotlith faction hangs there. My strategy to win there is to sneak my way till the tower on the left, rush to the top of the tower and then pick them one by one. They don't go to the highest point of the tower, so its a safe place there, with ample vision and lots of cover. Later in the game I even created a fast travel point right at the top of the tower... hahahaha...

I spent hours climbing buildings in Limansk the other day. you can climb the large apartment building at the bottom of the hill near the construction site by jumping off the roof of a car and climbing the balconies. Also you can get into the third story of the building near the fountain near gastronom and onto the rooftops of almost every other building. The climbing is pretty fun!

If you'll find expert tools too quickly - you'll run out of stuff to do too quickly, so its a coin with 2 sides
